This is coming from my child who is currently a student. Students do not feel safe. Teachers are always yelling and putting down the kids in front of other students. School does not involves parents on kids progress. When asking how my parents can help with my work and grade they say it’s up to us kids to be independent. We all ditch and tardy because we can get away with it with no discipline. We can fight each other and get away with it. Teacher do not run the school us kids do. Teachers don’t care that all of us are failing and below average in our grades. We all do what we want in class and they don’t care. They made a special rule for the 7th graders that we can’t get water during school hours and can only go to the bathroom 6 times a week. We have three minutes between classes ti go to the bathroom and get to class. Doesn’t matter that the bathrooms are crowded at this time. We are not aloud to talk to any other kids that are not in our grade or on the same floor as us. The only thing they try to control is how we socialize with our peers. We have our phones with us and teachers even get involved with videos and pictures with us. Haven’t learned anything here except learning more bad words and how to fight. The teachers are more worried about bathroom passes and not letting us get water during the day then our education. Begging my parents to get me out of this awful school . So if you want your kid to just hang out and do what they want with out learning this is the place to send them.

New to Colorado. Female child. African American. My daughter loved this school was in 7th grade 2020-21. My child loved the teachers and students. Yes it was during the pandemic but they truly show concern for these kids.

My daughter was home schooled for a year (5th grade) because she was struggling with reading and we wanted to get her caught up by letting her learn at her own pace, which helped her immensely! She came Aurora Hills advanced for her grade and because of her IB/STEM classes is still doing well. She has many friends and gets along with everybody. She listens and takes the constructive criticism from her teachers without throwing a temper tantrum or acting up. I get weekly emails from her teachers praising how hard SHE works in class and on her assignments. She is struggling with Spanish but her Spanish teacher said with her previous struggle with reading its possible that is what the problem is but she still tries and keeps trying, we may take her out of Spanish for the last half of the year and let her try again next year after some time with a tutor. We love Aurora Hills and would recommend it to anyone!
