Well, first, they give too much homework and not enough time on projects and assignments. Shout out to Miss Lakin, probably the best teacher in this school.

At first glance the school seems like it may be a good place for your child. It isn’t bad when it comes to the building or the clubs it offers, but the learning and bullying is off the charts. For 8th graders, and soon to be the entire school, teachers will be handing out textbooks and telling kids to read and teach themselves. This is supposed to give them accountability for their own learning, but instead forces the kid to freak out if they don’t understand without teacher instructions. Also, the popular kids will rule the school. The counselors are always saying to stand out and be yourself, but that isn’t possible when if you upset the “high up” students, you will be relentlessly bullied.I would not recommend this school because I believe that the teachers don’t help with the learning of a student and, in personal experience, the mental health of a student will be terribly impacted.

This middle school is a very bad place and impacts negatively on your child’s mental health. The teachers don’t teach or help improve the students learning and some of the eighth grade teachers do a type of classroom called a modern classroom. Which is where the teacher gives you a textbook and you get to teach yourself and they get to sit there. The teachers and adults at this school treat the kids as if they are trash. The kids at this school are very bad, as there is a ton of bad things going along. The teachers don’t care about a students improvement, and instead do as little as they can to get payed.

Our older child has had a positive experience at this school. Teachers were communicative and invested in our child’s performance, growth and development and treated them with respect and demanded students treat one another and their teachers with respect.Communication with parents was excellent and the PTCO was engaging and clear in communicating events and activities. The school was a safe place for learning and the traffic in and around the school was well-supervised with a number of staff and volunteers guiding cars and students. This school provided a sense of community akin to what we and our child experienced at their elementary school, which from reviews we had read was not what we were expecting. We were pleasantly surprised and pleased!

this school is sooooooooooooooooooooooo bad. As a student of fox ridge(2021-2023) I personally hate this school. The students are extremely and the "popular" kids are always bullying the kids especially the special needs kids. Some teachers are extremely rude. Also rules at fox ridge are stupid. we aren't aloud to draw on ourselves and if we do they send us to the deans. Also with the dress code, boys can come to school and show their underwear and they don"t care. The skinnier "white" girls can come to school and have the the shortest shorts and crop tops and they don't care but when darker skinned students where a crop top it's crazy. But yet when students say racial, sexual, and homophobic slurs, they don't care because the student with a centimeter of their stomach showing is more important. Also their was one time i was wearing shorts to school and these 8th grade boys were at the corner and one of them started staring at my legs and said "damn, she's hot". It was disgusting and has made me uncomfortable showing my legs at school. Also, if you report something to the deans or counselors they don't do anything about it. There are positives' about the school like how we have a lgbt club, and a whole lot of different ethnicities clubs. Some teachers like are really nice and care about you a lot. Their is also a really nice lunch lady that most students can relate to because she likes the same things as we do. AND the nurse doesn't do anything, i fractured my ankle and walked into the nurse limping in pain and all she did was give me ice and she just had me sit in a chair, didn't even give me a bed to lay on. Also, my friend went their feeling sick and all she did was make them sit on a chair for like 5 minutes and my friend was really dizzy and almost passed out but the nurse did nothing. But in the end I really hate this school and for anyone going to fox ridge, you probably will get bullied in some way no matter what. Also recently, i posted a video about homophobia and then at least 12 different people at my school started harassing be because of it. The think students actually learn things but we are all like zombies half the day. They wont let us have our backpacks in class or at school. My year of middle schoolers found a loop hole and uses tote bags. They make us shove everything in a small locker. Also for sports, they baby and "good players" the ones who are better than others get more attention than others.

My overall experience with fox ridge middle school is amazing because I actually like middle school! I am now in the 7th grade and everything has been amazing! The teachers are nice and understanding but strict enough to be great teachers. Our new principal has been great so far. She has been very observant and a great addition to the FRMS community. I would highly recommend you have your child go here!

My child actually likes middle school! Past reviews focused on the ineffective principal who has been replaced. Already seeing a change with the interim principal and the newly hired principal. We're very pleased with the changes. Homework is just right for our child to completely nightly. The teachers really seem to care about the kids. We love the area and the school!

My daughter has had a very positive experience so far (currently starting her 2nd semester 6th grade). The teacher are very communicative and open. I am very surprised about the negativity towards the principal, Mrs. Thomas seems great in my opinion, as well as my daughters. She is very accessible and encourages an open dialog with parents. No issues with bullying that we have observed. It is a shame that these sites attract people with an axe to grind.

Bullying is a continuous problem and the dean and principle do nothing about. They have not returned any of my calls or emails. My son's lunch is stolen from him by a bully a few times a week and the school does nothing. The same bully that we have constant problems with has been reported by a number of other parents as well. Another parent witnessed and reported that student waving a knife around at the bus stop and saw him trying to start things on fire at the bus stop. Every reported incident by students and parents went unanswered and that student is still free to bully other students and put their lives at risk. The zero tolerance policy doesn't seem to exist at this school.

There are definitely some very good teachers at this school (although the math department suffers from a serious lack of resources which they blame on common core) and I would like to give the school a higher rating but for the poor leadership and our continual experience of having nonacademic agendas pushed in our faces. At back to school night the principal displayed some visuals and quotes by Nelson Mandela which , to say the least, as leader of the MK armed branch of the ANC that used violence as a means to an end, is a controversial topic for middle school, especially during these fragile times when our community leaders should be working toward unity. Mandela was no Martin Luther King: why didn’t she choose King to quote at back to school night? Other teachers or counselors who, in apparent complicity with the CCSD, are vigorously pushing their own special agendas in the classrooms such as indoctrinating young children with GLSEN -style propaganda. There seem to be deliberate steps by a secretive admin here to hide things from parents and communication is blacked out. Is it a safe environment? We have to debrief our kids when they come home from CCSD schools like this one, so that depends on what you mean by safe...

Administration is AWFUL. The principal's focus is not on education, but rather brainwashing about the "horrors of white privilege" and ensuring that her favorite teachers (not necessarily the best teachers, just the ones who will keep their mouths shut) remain year after year. The good teachers are either fired after a year or two, or just quit to find a more satisfying employment opportunity. This school needs new administration to empower the good teachers, control the "entitled" students, and refocus on educating children. Readers will notice that Fox Ridge's ratings have been dropping over the last few years...that accurately reflects the declining state of the school. Our kids are fighting hard to perform well, but their success is often DESPITE the school's culture rather than BECAUSE of it.

Beautiful school building and grounds. Teachers engaged and a wide selection of activities. Administration seems overwhelmed and disorganized at times.

We moved to Colorado this year and are extremely disappointed in this school. The teachers are uncaring, emails and phone calls go unanswered, they do not teach instead show videos and have the students read textbook after textbook. They also speak to the students unprofessionally. The same goes for the administration. The students think they are in charge. They are constantly on their phones, dress and act inappropriately, and are out of control. What a disappointment. We will not be attending this school next year. What a waste of a school year for my child.

Fox Ridge is an awesome school there are tons of activities to participate in and it is a lot of fun...... although it could have some small improvement on helping students with homework grades ,etc. overall I would recommend this school to anyone looking for an amazing public school. ;) GO FOXES!!!!!!! :) ;)
