I can't say enough good things about Altitude Elementary! My daughter has been attending since Kindergarten, and we’ve been so impressed with the quality of education, the welcoming atmosphere, and the amazing staff. The teachers go above and beyond to make sure every student is supported and engaged, and my daughter loves going to school every day. There are a variety of events the school and PTCO puts on to the the community stay as involved as they want. They have a carnival, Moose Showcase, Festival of Nations, grade level concerts.. just to name a few! The school also has great after school clubs which have a wonderful focus on both academic achievement and social-emotional growth. I’m confident my daughter is not only learning but thriving in this positive environment.It is a wonderful place for kids! Go Moose!

As both a teacher and a parent at Altitude Elementary School, I can confidently say this is a truly exceptional place for children to learn, grow, and thrive. Altitude has masterfully cultivated a strong sense of community, making every family and staff member feel welcomed, valued, and connected. The relationships between teachers, students, and parents are genuine, fostering an environment where everyone feels supported and invested in student success.What sets Altitude apart is its ability to combine this warm, inclusive atmosphere with a commitment to academic excellence. The school prioritizes rigor in education, consistently challenging students to reach their highest potential. Teachers set high expectations while providing the resources and support to help every child meet and exceed those goals. I cannot say enough great things about Altitude Elementary School! I moved my kids to this school because of all the phenomenal things I heard about Altitude. The engagement is extremely high as the school promotes learning activities that encourage creativity and resiliency. My fourth grader and his class designed carts and raced them on the school's blacktop! Such a fun experience that the entire school got to view and enjoy! The school has so many traditions, and I love that my children are already looking forward to the next grade level and the fun learning experiences. My kids come home everyday after school and share their excitement of learning! The Altitude promise includes: responsibility; integrity; service; and empathy. These are four values the teachers and staff at Altitude embody and teach children. Mr. Schleich is a principal who holds students accountable and takes so much pride in his school. His presence is visible, and he encourages all students to do their best and not give up! Altitude provides such a warm, welcoming, and inclusive environment, and I'm glad my kids are part of it!

Altitude is extremely aligned with academics, and behavioral expectations. It is so fun to see the progression from Kindergarten to 5th grade in all subject areas, but in writing especially. Each classroom has a learning wall that includes essential questions, learning targets, and vocabulary words. The students regularly refer to these learning walls, and are able to tell you what they are working on in each subject area. Altitude uses the Launch Cycle in various projects in each grade level. After going through the Launch cycle the kids showcase their ideas and projects in a community open house called The Moose Showcase. Family and friends are invited in to check out the wonderful work they created. The kids look forward to Genius Hour every Friday. Every grade level features different activities for Genius Hour that engage students passions and interests. The kids at Altitude focus on character building through our RISE expectations. The principal hands out Smencils to students who are showing exceptional behaviors, making it a positive thing to do the right thing. The community is welcomed in to volunteer to fun events like the school carnival, Watchdog Dads, boosterthon, Moose Mudder, Veteran's Day Parade...to name a few. The kids have super fun field trips to look forward to like Night and the Museum and Outdoor Education. There are so many amazing clubs offered at Altitude for example, guitar club, geography club and kindness club. I feel so blessed that my children have the opportunity to go to such a wonderful school. The staff is amazing!

Altitude is a shining example of what an exceptional elementary school should be. From the moment you step onto the campus, you are welcomed into a warm and nurturing environment that prioritizes the well-being and education of every student. I have had two children at Altitude, and it is by far the BEST elementary school in the state of Colorado! The Altitude staff goes above and beyond to ensure each child receives personalized attention. Their passion for teaching is evident in their creative lessons and their commitment to fostering curiosity and growth in every student. The K-5 alignment at Altitude is exactly whey every student succeeds at Moose Nation. The teachers work collaboratively with each other to ensure every student is seen and valued at Altitude. The students engage in a weekly GENIUS Hour where they can engage in their passions as well as use the LAUNCH cycle daily to learn how to think, not what to think. Altitude combines traditional academic rigor with modern teaching methods. Subjects like STEM, the arts, and social-emotional learning are seamlessly integrated into daily instruction, providing a holistic approach to education.In addition, Altitude has a strong sense of community. Parents, teachers, and students work together to create a collaborative and supportive environment. Events like family nights and Marvelous Moose Showcase bring us all together, to see our students shine bright~ Our school is led by the best leader in the profession, Scott Schleich leads from the front and is consistently searching for ways to engage our moose to love school! Safety and inclusivity are top priorities. The school promotes RISE (Responsibility, Integrity, Service and Empathy), celebrating diversity and ensuring every child feels valued and included. My children know that anything is possible at Moose Nation, because they “Dream It! Believe It! Do It.” They area also reminded daily that “Moose Don’t Quit!” This mentality is carried over into our household each day too! If you’re looking for an elementary school that will nurture your child’s love for learning while building a strong foundation for their future, Altitude is the perfect choice. I can’t say enough great things about Altitude Elementary! My son has had a wonderful experience here, and it’s clear the school prioritizes both academic excellence and personal growth.One of the standout programs is Genius Hour, which encourages students to explore their passions and develop creativity and critical thinking skills. It’s amazing to see the projects my son comes up with and how enthusiastic he is about learning through this initiative.The school also emphasizes a growth mindset, teaching kids to embrace challenges and view setbacks as opportunities to grow. This approach has helped my son build confidence and resilience, both academically and socially.Another strength of Altitude Elementary is its community involvement. Altitude is an amazing elementary school. I have 2 children who have been at Altitude for the past 4 years. The schools focus on alignment throughout the grade levels makes transitioning each year an easy process. They use the LAUNCH cycle to complete projects and they have genius hour every Friday. The RISE (responsibility, integrity, service, empathy). values that Altitude expects builds character and high expectations. A few of our favorite events at Altitude are the Veterans day parade and moose showcase. The most wonderful that Altitude has taught my children is a growth mindset- "MOOSE DON'T QUIT!"

Altitude Elementary has been a wonderful place for my son, all kids, and community involvement! There is a high level of rigor and high expectations for students both academically and socially. One of my favorite things Altitude does is providing the opportunity for students to engage in a "Genius Hour" every Friday where they get to explore and learn about a passion of their choice, or collaborate with other students in the LAUNCH cycle! They use the LAUNCH cycle much like a design thinking practice where they look and learn about real world problems and explore solutions. One of the best parts is the students are learning to fail/not succeed and how to work through that and continue persevering toward their goals. Everything seems to be geared toward a true growth mindset and students realize that they will fail and they can pick back up and try something new, learn something new, or create something or some other form of what they're pursuing.

The school ensures open communication through newsletters, an updated website, and accessible staff. Teachers provide detailed progress reports and are available for discussions.
