Do not send your kids to this school. They do not care about the well-being of students, they discriminate against minorities, and they cannot properly staff. Kids are constantly being beaten up, there are dozens of video posted weekly of students beating up other students. If you are not Caucasian, you will not be listened to. This is a school that altered my life when I attended and I am sad to say it's still the same if not worse now that my child had been here. We have since moved our child out of this school and we advise other parents to do the same.

Bro i dont even know where to start. I've been going here for 3 years and im currently in 8th grade and this school has been the WORST 3 years of my life. The amount of emotional damage this place has brought me is insane.First of all: the teachers are literal GARBAGE at their jobs and extremely unsupportive. They suck at explaining things and they just throw you into things expecting you to just already know all of the material and when you ask for help they're just like "Well you should of been paying attention". You can honestly just tell the teachers have horrible pay and hate their jobs. The staff in general are just extremely rude.2nd: There is also a MAJOR drug problem at this school. Kids vape in the bathrooms, in the hallways, on the bus AND EVEN IN CLASSROOMS and the staff just dont care. Kids also get SA'd in the halls and the staff dont care. And I swear fights break out so often that its just a normal thing now. Heavy on the SA part SA is a huge problem at this school and it seems like no one cares.3: DO NOT SEND YOUR KID HERE UNLESS YOU WANT THEM TO GET BULLIED FOR BEING EVEN SLIGHTLY DIFFERENT!! Bro I get bullied EVERY SINGLE DAY for being gay and a furry. Tbh I feel like Liberty cares more about looking like a good school than actually being a good school . The kids at this school are HORRIBLE and will hate you for literally no reason. Also a lot of kids here cant read for some reason???4. The school lunch is actually vomit inducing. It seems like they don't care about kids health at all bc all they serve is greasy 5 day old pizza that tastes like its been left in a hot car. They RARELY have healthy options and most of the time i just end up packing my own lunch bc the school lunch has made me sick multiple times before. 5. I've never personally experienced this bc im literally white as paper but I've seen a TON of racism at this school from both the teachers and students. People call each other racial slurs under their breath ALL THE TIME. I've also been called a homophobic slur in the hallway before while a teacher was standing like 2 feet away and the teacher did NOTHING -_- . The only time they will do anything about it is if you ask them to and even then its pretty rare for them to actually give a darn.I'm so excited to switch schools next year bc this school SUUUCCCCKKKKKSSSSS.Honestly there is so much more i could say but this review is getting so long. DO NOT send your kid here.

Principal Kevin Doherty, is not in education to help students and teachers grow, he is in education as part of an ego trip. If you are a young, female teacher do not apply here. You will be set up to fail and treated like a punching bag. Admin and department heads will over populate non-tenured teachers classrooms with behavioral issues and students with known conflicts to make their classrooms purposefully unmanageable, all to the determent of the students in the class.Parents, if something feels off with your students class, it is.

I am A student the 22-23 school year and in a special education/ social skills class. I can only give this two star rating because all the teachers I've had engaged students and made the lesson fun. people try to fight me every other day, the school wastes it's money, the special ED teachers basically just put us in a room for 45 minutes and the other students Harass me and tell lies that can easily get me suspended. ONLY GO HERE IF YOU HAVE NO OTHER CHOICE!

This school issues are the same as Prairie Middle School. The fights happened almost everyday and the dean and the counselor did ABSOLUTLY nothing about it other than watch the fights. Graffiti on the tables, the walls, the girl's bathrooms and the boys bathrooms etc. Good-riddance these INCOMPTENT people are looping to the 8th grade. It is so sad that the Cherry Creek District 5, says it is dedicated to "EXCELLENCE." but they fail to deliver! The so-called principal's boss does nothing to assist parents, when you tell her about what's happening in the middle school and lack of principal's leadership, work performance, ethics, incompetent staff etc.

Teachers are supportive if you get the right ones. I can’t even tell about all the atrocities that I and my friends have been through. This is a short rundown of them, assault, ridicule, harassment, and now I’m in therapy. The principals will only help get rid of bullies if you threaten them with their own bullying policy

As a former teacher at Liberty, I can attest to the fact that the principal is a bully. His arrogance and lack of communication with teachers has a negative impact on everyone. He doesn't even have the common courtesy of responding to a teacher's hello in the hallway. He has a well-established and documented history of not renewing teachers during their probationary years for no reason.

I go to this school and one thing I can say is that the students here are crazy many kids get bullied and sometimes sexually assaulted. The staff don't care about at all. The deans here are horrible. the only positive thing is that the teachers now how to teach that's all.

My son doesn’t have problems at this school. So I’m giving it a 4 star rating for that, but my son has told me about kids and teachers being bullied and disrespected/mistreated. However, it has to be said—sry it’s long, if I didn’t raise my son to be a strong leader that has ethics and morals, he would be one to subject his peers that are “less privileged” or “special needs” to ridicule. PARENTS, it starts with you!!! I don’t leave it up to teachers to teach my child the rights and wrongs in life… I teach my son to be respectful to teachers/staff/students (people in general), teachers are there to be respected and just assist and reinforce positive things within my child. That’s what I believe would make schools better (bc all schools are susceptible to problems)… PARENTS truly instilling things in their children. Me instilling values, allows me to trust that my son will go anywhere (without me looking over him) and I know he’ll do the right thing. However, TEACHERS and STAFF get it together… sometimes you guys look over important things and focus on things that is not the real problem. My son has even seen kids constantly and obnoxiously harass children with “special needs” or kids that are uniquely different then them. This is disgusting to me, I teach my son compassion, respect, to treat everyone the same and to never be a follower. Sometimes teachers and security will get upset with students over nothing, but overlook real trouble makers. For instance, sometimes kids at lunch last year (2020-2021 year) would have a child (with special needs) stand up and sing in front of the lunch room so they can laugh and sarcastically clap (making fun of the student), bc it allowed them to get attention—PATHETIC displays like this go unchecked from the oblivious teachers and staff. If teachers and the staff are just completely unaware (which after the 5th time, should pick up on what is occurring) or they just don’t care… I don’t know which is worse. The “SECURITY” staff is a joke—not to be disrespectful, but how can a person that can’t even run protect students and staff??? Just saying… you can’t discriminate against anyone, but I’m a realist and our children need to be protected not just have staff in a security shirt to harass students and or not be able to adequately provide security!! This is a problem for me… I appreciate someone trying to provide severity, but with all due respect, in today’s age, this school (and others) need to step it up a notch!!!

Do not teach at this school! Do not send daughters to this school! Leadership is misguided and terrible! Admin is constantly changing direction and self promoting. Principal, Kevin, will fire teachers right before attaining tenure. Pattern established for last 3 years, at least. How could all teachers hired same year and teaching for past 3 years not be renewed? Too expensive because of masters degrees? Released teachers care more about students and question admins ever changing directions? Admin does not protect female students from harassment from boys. Blames girls for appearance versus teaching boys respect and proper behavior. Ground zero for future predators of women.

As a former teacher at this school, its the worst place I've ever been. While many teachers care and try their best, many also have become bullies and try to run other teachers out of the building. The administration is horrible, catering to the most forceful and damaging voices and ignoring the bulk of their students and teachers needs. DO NOT ENROLL YOUR KIDS HERE

The security guard and staff in the front office are cold, sterile, annoyed, and rude. Don't bother approaching them or asking questions. You will either be ignored or belittled for not knowing the answer to your own questions. This made it very hard for me to take the next step in addressing concerns. I did get in touch with one of the assistant principals. The gentleman I spoke with was personable, friendly, and answered all of my questions and not once did I feel I had put a damper into his day. Other than a very negative experience with the front office staff, as a parent I made mention that some children attending Liberty were bullied. That children in the AIM program will likely have a more positive experience than those who don't get into AIM. Non AIM kids will be surrounded by more kids who bully, swear, fight, take harmful substances, share improper images on their phones, and talk back to teachers, with little to no repercussions. There are kids that are so mean to one of the female teachers in a non AIM class that they make her cry. Some parents call AIM an elitist club. I hope whomever reads this will take a hard analysis at where improvement is needed. Parents want to know first and foremost that their children are going to be safe; that anti-bullying policies at the school are enforced. There should be equal opportunities for all children, even those who don't qualify for AIM.

Very poor experience. We wish we’d done a bit more research before moving into this area.

I would send your child somewhere else if they are different in anyway especially if they are not as financially well off like most of the schools population or they are gay. Thank goodness my daughter is resilient. I would hate to think what could possibly have happened if she was not.

Liberty was such a disappointment. We experienced all 3 grades (AIM program) with two different kids, and except for a few amazing teachers (who seemed to have left Liberty this year) the staff and administration have been unsupportive and unhelpful. The kids are always on their phones inside and outside of class, and not very welcoming or friendly to new students. There were NO field trips and my daughter was not able to take Spanish at all because classes were “full” every year. I am happy to report we enrolled our daughter at a new school this year, and it is wonderful to see the light back in her eyes and bounce in her step. Liberty is not for academically motivated and advanced students- if that is your child, look elsewhere.

My daughter is now on her second year at this school. It started out a bit rough, but only because the students are somewhat leary of new kids, as most have been in school together for several years. The teachers and admin are all fantastic. The learning environment is very conducive to student success.

Horrible school my daughter is in the sixth grade and has complained about kids in the seventh and eighth grade bulling her on the bus all year. She is failing math and has asked her teacher to help her and is told the only option is to stay after school even when she does she feels like she still doesn't understand the materials. Yesterday she was beat up by the girl who was bulling her and my daughter got suspended for three days along with the other child even though the saw on a video that the other girl hit my daughter first. My daughter is now terrified to get on the bus and the the school sad all but oh well deal with it I will be looking for another school next year. If you can don't go to this school I moved to this side of town to keep my kids from these type or situations my daughter has been in thia district for six years now and I just want to move now.

I am an eighth grader at Liberty and Liberty has gotten so much better than when my older sibling went to this school. I remember her telling me about kids smoking all the time, regular suspensions, but now that I've gotten to experience it for 3 years, I've discovered it's nothing like that. Sure there are still some kids who do that stuff out of school but since the new principal, the school has improved greatly. I was bullied here in sixth grade but I haven't been since. The teachers in the AIM program are amazing and they all care on how you do in class and will help if asked. I took off one star for some core and elective teachers who didn't help me at all, especially one teacher in the Spanish department(senor. Kaye), and the terrible work done for scheduling next year's classes.
