this school is beyond MID. everything about it is mid. mid teachers, mid students. I have been at this school for 2 years and I still get sad everytime I walk through the doors. First of all, the girls soccer team didn't have a coach for any of the teams until a week before tryouts started. I have been harrassed several times. Only last week I was called flat in the hallway by an upperclassmen. Second of all, Spanish is horrible here. My teacher has repeatedly embarrassed and called me out in class, as well as forgetting and putting F's in assignments I know I turn in. I would recommend going to Eaglecrest or Grandview because they are less mid, I have been to both, and they have better academics and athletics.

1/10 people at this school are nice. the rest have to be the most rude people i've ever met. they have no respect and they are all bullies.

My daughter and my son visited this school, from our experience the staff and the management was very professional.

I was a student at this school. For most of my high school career, I struggled academically and mentally. I certainly was not a delinquent, yet I was lumped into those group of students, being deemed undeserving of attention or care. Because I am a minority, I was not treated with the same respect that a white student would have. Teachers would forget how to pronounce my name, which is fine as I understand that reading a foreign name can be challenging. However, purposely misspelling my name and even outright intentionally saying it wrong crosses the line. The discrimination doesn't end there either. I had a teacher say that "an asian student was not performing well in her class." I was the only oriental student in the classroom and it was absolutely humiliating. I know teachers are treated like trash, but that doesn't mean they get to treat their students like that. And if management was competent, such teachers shouldn't even be hired or kept around. If you're not a minority, I'm sure you'll have a great time at this school. Otherwise don't expect the same kind of experience you see from the glowing reviews.

I had two children attend CTHS over the past four years. I had a very positive experience! My two kids were at very different ends of the spectrum. One was a very highly intelligent child with IB studies. The other child was a good student but not honors, AP or IB. Both of my kids did well with the instruction that they received at CTHS. The IB child went on to CU Boulder and at the end of his freshman year of college, attained a 3.8 GPA in the Leeds Business School. That was how prepared he was for college!! My other son who wasn't as academically inclined, finished his last year at CTHS with a 3.0 GPA because of the interest in his education by the teachers at CTHS. I was very nervous to start my kids in a big school (for us anyway) like CTHS, but both of them did well with the instruction and class structure. We made the choice to move to this area based on the schools and we were not disappointed with the outcome. CTHS is a great school with fantastic teachers and administrators.

Very good. My daughter has learning disabilities and she had and has great support from the staff.

My son just finished his first year at CT (we also moved from Texas), and he had a great experience. The transition to HS was very smooth for him and he had some fabulous AP and Honors teachers. He also plays sports at CT and has had a good experience with that. My concern was the size of the school, but it hasn't been an issue. We have not had any bullying or peer pressure issues, and my son scored a 4 on his very first AP exam ever! My daughter is excited to start next year.

We love this school! Great teachers and staff. Parents also care, which makes a huge difference.

Moved into the school district from Texas. Yes, the school is diverse and yes, the kids seem to be nice, but I want good role models in the teachers and coaches that spend the majority of the day with my child. This school is out of control. The admin are just figureheads and certain coaches/teachers are allowed to do as they please and address kids and parents as they wish. We were warned that we should reconsider our choice from two other families that moved into Texas from CTHS ...we decided to try it anyway, and they were spot on. We are transferring our child to a school that puts kids first. Can't get out of here fast enough.

My Junior and Sophomore boys go here. They could have gone to Regis but chose CT. I was worried about the size and academics, but they are both thriving. My son said this morning there is really no bullying that he has seen, and both boys seem to have great diversity of friends. Good school spirit at games etc., I would like to see better test scores and college readiness a priority.

This school wasn t for me. I transferred my kids to another district. Many parents complain on how the athletics are facilitated and nothing is ever done. So I just took my tax dollars elsewhere. To each his own. Education is a package. Kids deserve a good academic experience and that would include academics and athletics. Both aspects work together.

AMAZING. One of the best schools in the Colorado. I will miss going here. Some of the teachers are questionable though, but the rest are awesome

I recently left this school due to relocating cross-country, and I must say I had no idea how fortunate I was when I was attending Cherokee Trail. Not only are the students forward thinking and generally friendly, the teachers have some of the brightest minds I've seen, and they actually interact and spur intellectual discussions that can bring out the best in people; something I no longer see in my new school. I was privileged to go for two of my High School years, and without a doubt I would've loved to go for all four of them.

This school is the best. There are no cliques and everybody is friendly. Even if you are a new student, you find a group of friends almost immediately. Plus, it offers higher level classes such as IB, AP, and honors. There is an extremely wide range of club and sports that you can participate in. They are even building a new wing for the school and a greenhouse! But some things that aren't great is the amount of traffic, both outside (cars) and inside (people in the hallways). We have so many people but that makes the school really diverse. I love this school! :)

I have attended CT since my freshman year and am now a senior! I love Cherokee Trail and would not be the well rounded person I am today without awesome teachers, coaches, and faculty! I have taken AP classes since my sophomore year and have absolutely nothing bad to say about the program. Teachers are always there for support and extra help if needed! Also athletics are awesome!:) GO COUGARS!!!

This school has been a disappointment. Don t get me wrong, this school does have some great teachers, but the administrative staff is full of hot air. All concerns or issues are deflected and covered up. There is a reason why schools like Cherry Creek and Grandview are successful. They have the right people in the right positions. CT seriously needs new leadership. DON T SEND YOUR CHILDREN HERE.

Cherokee Trail has so many amazing teachers and programs, it has everything a student would want! Both my sister and I were named National Merit Scholars and we had very different strengths and interests. There are programs for all levels, and with IB and AP classes, Musicals, sports, Science & Math clubs, Speech and Debate, and Tech Students Assoc. we were both able to complete at state and national conferences multiply times. I am grateful to all the school offered us both and how it supported both our paths.

A key barometer of a school's excellence is measured by school teacher's children and where they send them. Teachers have first priority in where they can send their children and most CTHS teachers send their kids to GHS (ed guess). We are aware of this as we have tried for 4 years to have our kids moved from CTHS and have been rejected each year (our kids are high performers). Additionally, the AP programs are much stronger at GHS---the schools refuse to publish the comparative data but we have parental friends at both schools and it seems apparent that GHS gets many more 4's/5's on AP exams. I have tried like heck to even get CTHS to publish this data but they refuse. Our experience at CTHS is mixed. Our kids are self starters and high performers and love the arts. CTHS arts programs are not strong (to put kindly). It is our opinion that CTHS does not believe in meritocracies and perhaps this is unfair but in sports, it is easy to compare. There are winners. There is a HUGE attrition rate in the feeder middle school kids...about 60% of freshmen...and higher as kids progress. The school does not seem to care. Sorry for the poor review but caveat emptor

My daughter is currently a sophomore at this school and has had nothing but great experiences here. The IB Program is exceptional, and they have a ton of opportunities here. A lot of people worry about sending their kid to such a large school, but there are soooo many different groups and organizations along with every sport imaginable for them to fit in to. The teachers give the kids every opportunity to meet after school for study groups/reviews. The parents really work together to volunteer to make Cherokee trail a great school.
