The staff at High Point Academy care about students. They provide lots of support and want families to be involved. The school makes improvements based on feedback and is focused on student learning.

it is a decent school and I have some good friends but if something happened it would take too long for the cops to get here one of the only reasons I like it here is my friends and they say they are going to do stuff for safety and other topics but don't do anything and there have been at least 10 fights just in middle school and it takes to long for them to break them up gou

My children attended this school for a number of years, and I would not recommend this school. The best part of High Point is the Preschool, Kindergarten, and First grades. After first grade, the school experience just fell apart for my children. After first grade, the kids have little to no homework. The leadership at this school is most to blame, as the principal and the school board, run the school like a business. They went so far as to post a policeman in an unmarked car in the parking lot last year, to intimidate parents who do not want to adhere to their car pool parking! I feel for the good teachers who remain at this school. They are given little power because of the poor leadership and the herd mentality required by said leadership.

Highpoint lost my son’s 5o4. When it was needed most it was not honored. When we tried to correct this, we received the run around. Had to call 3x and would get vague returned calls with no recognition of our concerns. When I participated in the 5o4 meeting, they immediately suggested we cancel the 5o4 because we were online. I declined, yet they seemed to have made the decision themselves. I would not recommend Highpoint. If you have a child with special needs be vigilant. My son did appreciate the ability to review his assignments so he could stay organized. However, these records were not always updated in a timely way.

We have been here several years. Elementary hands down is Awesome. But, the big turn around of staff for middle school needs a overhall or adding of more teachers. Not enough rooms for teaching. Getting over crowded. Knowing what I know now-- I should have got my child out a few years ago. I wont' make the same mistake with the second. Hope the test scores go up and hope from my mistakes that my students don't fail in the other schools because of not making the students be more excited about their studies and not learning. Hope I am wrong. This next year will be the test.

This school is absolutely terrible. My child learned basically no new material this year because it was a terrible inconvenience for the teacher to actually teach my child since my child is gifted yet high energy. The concepts weren’t new to my child so rather than challenge my child, the teacher allowed my child to basically wander and do as they please and learn next to nothing. I’m now compensating by teaching my child on my own two grade levels above when grades they’re in.

Leaves a lot to be desired. I feel like I really should have left after the last school year but I unfortunately decided to give high point another chance which is my greatest regret this year.

most students are really mean. They bully you if you are on their bad side. they had a whole talk to six grade about sexually touching people and calling people names saying rude stuff about other students clothes. saying someone pooped her pants. body shaming people . searching people lockers to see if they had drug even though they did not and ect. the teacher in 6th grade giving the whole class test on something they are not even done learning just because 2 people were acting up. if they like you they tat you better than others. they assume that you did something even though it was a student across the room and you get in trouble for it.they scream at student for no reason and they get in trouble even though they have really good grades but it takes a while for them to grade cause they do not. they leave late work an due work in the turn in bin for weeks and giving them a incomplete on that homework and they even lose it then saying you cant turn it in or you have to do it again. i would say more but that would be a bunch so im done with this school

HPA has a serious Bullying issue. The administration does not stand up and protect its students. Many students have left this school and more are to come because the lack of culpability the school takes. Kids are scolded by teachers not to be tattle tales, and shewed away when trying to tell them they have a problem or told "lets wait till next week." There is no ownership of their problems

High Point is an excellent school. The teachers go far and beyond to make sure your child is successful in reading and math. Also, the school offers free tutoring. Go Huskies!

High Point Academy is an outstanding school! My kids have been there since the school first started in 2005! So many great teachers whom genuinely care about the kids! We have seen our preschoolers blossom into awesome middle schoolers and it wouldn't have been possible without the teaching, caring and excellent leadership from the staff. Everybody from the IA's, MS athletics coaches, wonderful office staff, administrators and teachers! Thank you High Point Academy for being the best school in the Far Northeast!

The teachers truly love the students. We are military and my children have attended this school since we moved here. (since fall 2012) The education my children have received is beyond my expectations. They have low, middle, and high groups and they challenge each child. We love HPA!

High Point Academy is a great school and we are extremely pleased to be sending our daughter there for the last 5 years. The teachers are awesome and very involved with the students. They truly care about their success and work hard to find the best learning tools. The administration is very approachable and concerned about making High Point Academy the best school around. Sending our daughter to this school has been one of the best educational decisions for our family.

Do your homework on how Charter schools work- ESPECIALLY this school that has no control -no vision - no guidance. They run good teachers off for cheaper ones, hire a 3rd principal. Because of their horrific test scores in math and english they have cut science and social studies down to 2 hrs a week total- and the same time keep short days ending at 2:00 on Wednesdays- this is 1.5 hours that could actually be used to TEACH! Kids are supposed to get out at 3:30 every day the younger grades are always outside waiting for their parents by 3:15-yet another opportunity the school is pathetic. I am a VERY Supportive parent of our school normally and always of my childs education process. We volunteered over 100 hours last year, we read to our child, we ensure homework is done and understood. RUN FROM THIS SCHOOL FAST!
