I have been a supporter of ODB for 3 years and I have seen a huge improvement in school culture and scholar support. I see how the scholars love their teachers and that is a huge asset to our community. There are always things that could be better, and I see the staff striving in every way to communicate and rectify any areas of growth. I have the privilege of working alongside many schools in various districts and Omar D. Blair is the only one I support in my free time for a reason. Great school!

My experience at this school was fun, amazing, safe and clean. I would suggest people come to this school because it encourages them to learn while having fun. shout out to all the teachers and cafeteria worker at Omer D. Blair for being there for me when I went there. Now I'm a Junior in high school.

Parents: check out the constant turnover of staff. Ask to see the licenses of the staff AND the administration. How many teachers have been at this school for over 5 years? over 3 years? Why do strong high quality teachers keep leaving this school? Strong teachers are seen as a threat to administration, and are forced out or leave due to micromanagement. Not enough support staff for students with special needs. Middle school is in constant turmoil and turnover. There are much better options for parents in GVR. Do not trust this school

This school has low ratings for a reason. This school is a joke and all the kids would be better off at another school. Fake Principal Harrell needs to step down because she has no idea how to run a school. I've submitted a grievance to her and she has failed to respond so I will go above her head. I wish DPS would drop Omar D. Blair because this school is definitely not for the students. Your child will slowly progress because the staff are not invested in all students. They told me that we would be in constant communication but haven't heard from them in months even though situation hasn't improved. They give up on students that they deem problems and don't have a problem showing it.

I do not recommend this school, as a fellow student, I do not feel safe at this school. i've experienced racism from my very own teachers the phone rule is unacceptable and they silence us by taking negative dojos and our phone and lying to us about our family signing a paper. I also experience racism from my classmates it's not even funny. the bullying is outrageous.

This school has gone above and beyond for our child with an intense IEP, and we've had an uncommon number of exceptional teachers. We've have 3 extraordinary teachers, 1 exceptional teacher, and 1 good teacher so far, and one visit to another exceptional teacher's classroom. The SPED director has a lot of love for the children and families and works hard to provide thoughtful services to the children. They talk a lot in the lower grades about being a "bucket filling classroom," and building each other up. I like it a lot. You could do much worse than this school for your child.

Omar D. Blair is an amazing school and I have no doubt that it is the best elementary and junior high option available to GVR, Gateway, and Montebello families. I am proud to be a member of their faculty.

I have had the opportunity to work at seven different schools for the ten years I've worked in education. Omar D. Blair has been one of the best schools I've ever had the pleasure to work at. I feel blessed to work in such an amazing community and with such amazing teachers and staff.
