I would rate it as a good experience the curriculum is good and most teachers are good.

Two of my children are students at Erwin High School and it's gone from bad to worse over our time there. As a parent, you are discouraged from communicating with any member of the staff... teachers ignore your emails, no one returns calls, and if you don't cc a principal or contact the superintendent's office they will completely stonewall you. Teachers are dismissive and uncooperative if you try to stay involved in your child's academic progress and treat any communication with thinly disguised irritation and disdain. The turnover rate for teachers is so high that my child's teacher for his Principles of Business class left in the middle of the semester and the teacher that replaced her let them do whatever they wanted for the remainder of the term after explaining that he had no idea how to teach the class. A whole block with absolutely no educational value every single day and not one "educator" concerned... this is Erwin High School.

This school is need of a new principal and vice principal. They do not have the same rules for everyone and the lack of control over their students is terrible. I would highly suggest home schooling before having your 8th grader start their 9 th grade year at a school that will change who your child is

Because there is to much drama and people spread rumors to much. I also don't like how some of the teachers treat us

Poor leadership disrespectful to students and employees, monstly immature teachers who argue with students and make them feel less than human and very poor curriculum.

I am a graduate of Clyde A Erwin High and I am currently attending college at UNCC. The key so far to the success that I am having here is a direct result of my parents involvement with the school and with the helpful teachers and coaches that I had the four years I attended there. I was always encouraged to support my school by participating in sports and to also be apart of the clubs and orgainizations that the school offered. I graduated with honors not because I was super smart or anything but because my parents stayed in contact with my teachers and coaches to ensure that I kept my grades and homework up and ontime. I am thankful for all the help they gave me to do my best on the field and in the classroom.

We had a son graduate from Clyde a Erwin High school and we currently have a daughter that attends there. Our son is a sophomore in college and Erwin not only prepared him to be accepted to college but helped him achieve academic success once he got there. The coaching staff was a huge part of his life and they all maintained levels of leadership that we trusted. The teachers and administrators were always helpful and would willing to return emails or phone calls on a timely manner. Our daughter is on that same track of academic success in the classroom and in athletics with this school and we are fully confident that this school is performing at a level to equip her with any and all necessary skills to make certain of that as well.

My son attended Clyde A. Erwin High school and he graduated in 2012 with academic honors! He was a three sport letterman and with a team effort on and off the field , my son learned the valuable lessons that has made him the young man he is today as a full time college student and full time employee. Thanks to the teachers and parent volunteers of that school and community, you get what you put in!

I have a daughter that has gone to Erwin for 3 years and I could not be happier. The teachers and coaches are very helpful as well as concerned about each child. My child is in honors classes as well as athletics and loves the school. She has a GPA of 4.6 and has been approached by several college recruiters for scholarships. The school is community oriented and has a wide variety of courses to choose from. I m so glad we transferred her from another school.
