My childen was bullied last year, and the school did nothing to help us out and basically threatened us to shut up and go away. We transferred to a different school when we moved in june and we are much happier with the administration at our new school and there is no bullying. I have talked to friends over the last year from when i lived in ashburn and from what I hear, the lack of action is still a thing that nobody does anything about.

My daughter was victim of violence for another student inside the restrooms. But even my daughter face was red for the violence of the other student. The assistant told us because there is no cameras inside the restrooms she can't do absolutely nothing. Be aware that if your child experience any act of bullying or violence I side the restrooms. Nobody will do nothing.

Administrative staff and most teacher care about the students and their success. Any school will have a few teacher that are just able to qualified to inspire and understand our modern day children. It’s a difficult time to connect with these them in today technology filled world. I’ve found that what does make Broad Run a step above the rest and that we don’t have all new and top of the line, best of the best but what we do have and compassion, caring, average folks (both staff and student) which to me makes the equality of our school 10!

We have a child who has been in the school district for 3 years and at BRHS for 1 year. We have been exceptionally pleased by the caliber of teachers, the sports program and the Debate Club. Teachers arrive early, depart late and have ensured success for our child. They have been caring and concerned and reply to email. Only once have I felt the need to write to the principal recently about an issue and within 45 minutes of hitting send, the issue had been discussed and resolved without any excuses. Pretty amazing and supportive of parents.

I have a Freshman girl at Broad Run HS and since she is an avid reader she loves the Library, the Debate and Creative Writing Club. Academics are challenging and interesting, teachers are engage with subjects. There is always something going on for every one!

I have a freshman at Broad Run and I couldn't be happier with the teachers and administration. He is receiving a fabulous education from a staff of knowledgeable, caring teachers. We have a wonderful, energetic, new principal this year, and the school has just begun renovations.

Broad Run is an amazing learning environment for a very diverse community. We have awesome teachers and very involved parents. Although 45 years old, it's getting ready to go through a much needed expansion and renovations.

I have a senior and a freshman at BRHS, and we have had great experiences at this school. Academically, there are many very strong students at this school, and a wide variety of AP courses are offered. The staff is motivated and dedicated. Broad Run boasts many strong sports teams including last years 5A State championship boys soccer team, conference titles for both boys and girls basketball teams, and a strong football program that is currently ranked in the WaPosts top 10. BRHS is one of the oldest hs is the county, and we are looking forward to the many improvements and upgrades that are underway and will continue over the next two years. Our family has been very pleased overall with our experience at BRHS.

To be honest, this school isn't what it used to be. Broad Run was one of the very first schools in the county, so back then it had some pretty high rankings. Now these newer schools are far better. The school was built in 1969, seeing mice has become a norm around here. Academics could be better. Our sport teams suck now. A lot. Except for maybe volleyball. Some teachers are excellent and others are just AWFUL. I wonder how some of them even got the job when they could care less about their students success. Here are some pros about Broad Run: Although academics aren't great, they're not horrible. Many classes do require a good amount of effort to pass. You will learn, regardless. School spirit is big around here, especially at football games. People are approachable. There are cliques and bullies but hey that's at every high school. There are great ways to get help for your classes, teachers can help before school, after school, during lunch or study hall. NHS tutors are available for every subject. Overall, Broad run is an ok school. Needs major improvement. There are much better schools in the area. But being a Spartan isn't too horrible after a while.
