My first child went through MRMS unscathed. My second child is completely different. While academically successful, we have had numerous issues with the new administration not being knowledgeable about county policy, not adhering to policy, not taking bullying seriously, and non-responsive unless I have gone to the next echelon for a response. While they are trying to work with us it seems, my child is in a minority community to which the administration and students seem uneducated and unresponsive to bias behavior. I have a 3rd child that will be attending next year with their own set of "issues" and I am truly scared that he will be left behind, lost in the shuffle, and/or bullied. Really disappointed with the new administration; All talk, and not until you involve the county. The county isn't much better with the issues we are dealing with, but at least they hold the school accountable. Teachers themselves have been outstanding for my current 6th grader.

As a retired classroom teacher and volunteer at Magothy, I have observed a high level of both academic and personal concern for students at all levels of school operation. There is a wide variety of activities and opportunities for students of all interests. I'd like to give a special nod to the music program.
