This school offers a nurturing and well-structured environment where kids are raised with strong values. It is highly systematic, competitive, and fosters both academic and personal growth. After joining, my daughter developed excellent social and academic skills, making it an ideal place for holistic development.

This school has been disappointment after disappointment. The principal and AP run Viridian like a prison. If your child does not fit into the exact box they expect them to you will feel pressured to have them tested for special education. This school is lacking love and fun. Everything is too serious. Parents don’t feel welcome to come volunteer or help in decision making for the school. There are also major safety concerns with morning drop off and pick up that have not been handled with urgency. Unfortunately, it’s going to take a parent or child getting hurt for anything to be done.

As a student that went there the teacher can be fun but the can’t be really and I’m not even going to talk about the principal. They don’t handle bullying good so my point of view DONT GO THERE.

I don’t even know where to begin. The small amount of time we attended Viridian Elementary was nothing short of a nightmare. My son came from a school where his diagnosis was not seen as a “problem” and his education and growth as a student was fostered and supported with a highly educated team. We had zero behaviors or complaints from his previous school. We came to Viridian and were given false information. The current principal should lose her ability to lead let alone be in any school around children. There is ZERO knowledge or training for children with Autism Spectrum Disorder. The emails and documentation I have are proof enough. The photos of marks on my sons arm are proof enough. The thousands of dollars I had to spend having an appropriate IEP developed after hiring a law firm and still had to pull my child from this school, are proof enough. The lies, the manipulation, the actions of other parents, and the spectacle this school made of my child is something we still have not been able to fully process. We had little to no help from administrators within the district or the special education “team”. There was ZERO concern for my child, only concern to protect themselves. I have never seen my son more fearful of attending school, and the personal anxiety I experienced wondering when I would receive the next call. If your child has any kind of struggle…run fast from this school! This district needs to clean house, starting with her.Fast forward, we are now at a neighboring school in the district and it is the best decision we ever made, and that unfortunately was a struggle as well. The principal and VP are AMAZING. His team is amazing and patient. If I had known how amazing his current school is, I would have never enrolled him at Viridian where we are zoned.

There is a lack of leadership and a cohesive vision for education at this school. Experienced like drop-off, pick-up, lunch, and school events are chaotic. It’s clear that there has been a lack of training for staff and parents on the simplest tasks, like how cars are supposed to pull up during drop-off. This lack of cohesion also shows up in communication and academics. Communication between administration and families, as well as teachers and families, is sporadic at best. Messaging is inconsistent, and the administrators at this school often contradict themselves and fail to follow-up on promises and efforts to address concerns. While test scores are high overall, there are many signs that the school is not serving all students equally well (equity scores lag far behind other HEB schools). This isn’t surprising, as class sizes are extremely large—upwards of 25-30 students—and the curriculum is outdated. Teachers rely mostly on worksheets, with many parents supplementing instruction at home. The worst part is that this school has so much potential, and yet it seems to be consistently failing students, families, and the community.

I had 2 children go through Viridian and absolutely loved our time there. The teachers always communicated very well and quick to respond to any questions. The counselor has gone above and beyond and really made a huge difference in our childrens' lives. Such a great group of teachers and administration!

Leadership at the school is even worse than it use to be. If you let the principal talk long enough she will tell in herself with lies and contradicting statements. My child has been targeted and bullied at this school for years and if and when I bring it to the administrators attention they do not have any sense of urgency and after their investigation my child the one to blame? The only punishment for another child punching my child in the face/throat is a “lonely lunch”. There’s only been 2 teachers in my 4.5 years of being involved with this school who really seem to care about my child’s growth and development. I wish it was easier to just leave the school because dealing with the staff is so frustrating and the end of the day they cannot seem to keep my child safe.

In multiple years at this school, we dealt with issue after issue after issue. First, the original principal was arrested for a well-documented issue. Then, the new principal that came in ran the school like a prison, causing high, high, great teacher turnover. While the building is shiny and new, the feeling is drab, boring, and not kid-friendly. There is minimal to no flexibility, there is no "fun", the school is run like a business and not like a place aimed at fostering learning for young people. We have since moved to a new district and we have seen the other side of the educational world and it is much, much better. We are glad we left HEB and Viridian.

They need to improve with targeted education. Too many kids per classroom. Almost 25-30 in first grade.

Both my daughter and son attended Viridian Elementary after they were re-zoned from South Euless. My daughter did not have a positive experience until the sixth grade, and my son's Elementary years were pretty much ruined. I do not recommend this school to anyone. South Euless is by far a true elementary school with teachers who truly care about their student's outlook on school and learning.

My daughter loves Viridian. We love how diverse this school is. Teaching methods are effective and my daughter has really grown into a great student.

We have had a positive experience at this school. However, I do feel like class sizes are large, especially in the 6th grade. Considering the large class size, our teachers have been responsive and helpful.

My oldest transferred in from a less well-rated school when Viridian was built, and was able to immediately take advantage of the languages program, which was not offered at the other school. Viridian also has Suzuki Strings, which may eventually appeal to her younger sisters. Very nice school, great staff, on par with anything else I have seen so far in TX, including South Euless.

I am very pleased that my children have so many opportunities from Suzuki Strings to World Languages. The teachers are friendly and always willing to discuss any topics. The Dads Club is very active at the school and plays a big part in the drop off/pick up process to help alleviate traffic woes. We are excited to have such a great school in our community.
