This will be my third year at Ellis, but it is my 16th year as an educator. I have never worked with a better group of admin, teachers, and support staff. Our faculty truly is a family. Our community is a little rough and we are title 1 status. We have very many young parents and most are doing the best they can. We love our kids, their parents, and we offer support outside the classroom in a variety of ways.

Overall terrible school with major discipline problems. Classrooms unruly with students constantly talking and out of control students fighting and throwing things. My children were denied the privilege of going to the STEM lab multiple times because students could not behave. Teachers talk to students very rudely in the cafeteria as well. There are a few good teachers and administrators at this school just doing the best they can but good students miss out on instruction.

Wish students did not have to attend this campus. It’s an awful place for students with parents who care about education.

I regret moving my children to this school! They are the laziest teachers and principals I have seen. I don't any teacher should use God as a "listen to me" tactic. God is not someone a teacher should use to instill fear in kids. I believe in God! I'm a Christian! My beliefs may not be the same as that teacher. I had other bully issues with another one of my kids and none of the principals ever contacted me, ever!!! Seriously, when less than half of the alumni pass the state testing it shows how much these teachers are really teaching our children. Reconsider moving your kids here. If an education matters to you find a better school.

Since the first day of Kendergarten, we made it known to the faculty that our daughter was identified in preschool as showing signs of learning problems but was too young to test for dyslexia. In the first grade, her teacher has completely let her down. We have had multiple parent-teacher conferences all through the year about her learning but the teacher would drag her feet and not help my daughter. I had to get short with her in a conference to finally get my RTI meeting but it is too late. All the way to the principal they allowed my daughter to bring home 5 report cards with all 1s on everything reading and phonic related before they would even talk to us. We have given them all the information to test her and then some. The one reading program they put her in 4 days a week of one on one time she only gets maybe once due to not having a sub. In the conference, even the principal showed no interest in doing anything to make our daughter successful. For 2 years now, we have been fighting this school to get our daughter educated. We have given up. We are transferring her to antoher school.

Today one of my son's classmates mom found a little girl lost by the street! again she was either in 1st or 2nd grade! she had to take the little girl who was scared and crying to the principal office! what if its my son next time????? its scary!!! they need to do something about it!!! btw, my son its not going to go to this school next year!

I love this school. My daughter is doing extremely well and her teacher is very caring and attentive. No school is perfect but Ellis is trying really hard and offer monthly family gatherings and student involvement.
