Horrible school. I should say 80% of the students dislike their school administrators. Principal and 11th Grade AP pretending to be parents by disciplining students for activities that happened outside school campus. They should be more worrying about what is going inside campus and allowed the students to have a private life. They should mind their own business.

Im a sophomore here at this school and it is horrible. I originally transferred from a better high school that I attended freshman year. The principal I think tries to mean well but acts rowdy at times. Most of the students are students who couldn't care less and most likely won't attend college.

I'm not sure who left the other reviews for the school, but it is clearly a two-star site at best. The teaching quality is often mediocre depending on the department, often digressing into babysitting, worksheets are considered real "work," the budget never seems to match need, and the campus is a dump. It is sad to juxtapose this campus with others in the AUHSD. There is clearly some neglect from the district itself, and a lack of oversight. Katella averages a new principal every two years, but its AP's are never switched out. Student and parental involvement are extremely low. It is a miracle any of its (socially-promoted) "graduates" can survive in college, but most don't go anyway, so it's hard to tell what becomes of all these former Knights.

It is my opinion that this school has even become more chaotic. Mr. Carpenter has the audacity to post fliers on campus to purchase his book "keeping it simple". In theory of his goal of the "Almighty dollar" rather than focus on conducting himself professionally. I have three children who were attending this school and thank God I placed them at Fullerton High, a more caring concerned group of people rather than this disenchanted Principal who is more concerned about the politics of his losing the opportunity to be school superintendent to a extremely and well rounded person. I encourage Mr. Carpenter to apply himself to his career of book writing his theories rather than complete destruction of the school.
