Not my choice in school would love to put my child in a better school but her mom wants her to finish out 5th grade this year .

Great teachers.. I have 3 kids that go ther over the past 7years ..HORRIBLE front desk staff-- mainly one older woman--seems like shes been at the job for 50 years and hates her job.. the other front staff tippie toe around her.

While school has just started our experience has been Fantastiic! My child has special needs and in the past I have felt like we were a burden and not welcome. The principal Mrs. Gamble has been very welcoming and has made me feel like a part of their school family. I have always felt that the principal and administration set the tone for how parents and children are to be treated and so far everyone else has been amazing! I love my daughter's teacher and feel very confident in her and all of the staff that I have met thus far. I also like that there is a huge focus on reading at this school.

My son came from U46 in Illinois when he started 3rd grade he was reading at a 2nd grade level, now he is at the end of 4th grade and is now ready at a 5th grade 7th month level. The school isnt perfect im sure but overall they have been great for my son.

This school is not where I like my child to be. The new principal is a disaster and she is in way over her head this year. My child has been here for 2 years and I cannot wait to get out of there. The teachers are fantastic and care so much for the children, but the administration is what draws me away from this school.

Altamonte's new principal is making positive changes! Kids are excited about school and that speaks volumes! Our PTA is strong and has excellent leadership.

I am a parent of a 3rd grader here in Altamonte elem. and I must say that after moving from NY the school and teachers has helped my son adjust and given him all the support he has needed and has really started out the school year the way he should. I am so far very pleased with what I have seen and my son is extremely happy

I have had three children attend Altamonte. I am overall pleased with the staff. I've read the other comments and wonder if those parents would like to do a better job at the front desk. Children come in late because the parents are not responsible. This disturbs the rest of the class. I have watched parents come in and check out their child, without a note to the teacher. It takes time to dismiss a child early to gather needed work. I help out sometimes in my children s classes. There are a lot of planners not signed daily. Many children do not have their homework checked by an adult. Some don t even have a backpack. Even worse, in my opinion, children are at school before the teachers arrive! Why is this the teacher s fault or staff?

I find front desk staffs bsolutely rude and down right mean. If this is how they treat me as a parent considering putting my child into this school - I am extremely concern about how they treat the kids there.

This is not a good school. The teachers are great but the the office staff is a different story. They are soo rude, if you ask them a question they talk to you like your stupid. I know they have nothing to do with the education of the children- but they basically represent the school. You want to feel like you and your child/children are welcomed not a nuisance!! Two years in a row they let my son get on the wrong bus-the first time he was in kindegarten and when I called the office in TEARS asking where was my son- The said very rudely and non chalant "you need to call transportation" like I lost a puppy or something-needless to say my son wll not be going bck- and I do not recommend this school to anyone!!
