northrup gives me brain damage.- the school does not enforce rules at all. like every other school, we are not allowed to use our cell phones. however, students would whip it out and openly use it, and some of the yard duties wouldn't care at all. in general, the adults don't care if students use their cell phones. another rule is the dress code. students are required to wear uniform to school. however, the students constantly disobey this rule and wear whatever they want without getting into any trouble. the school doesn't allow us to show shoulders either, however i've seen that plenty of students have already broken that rule.- the school does not take any action towards bullying. there are a bunch of things to say, but i'll sum it up. there are a lot of fights on campus. a majority of the of students are racist. in fact, they are so racist that them saying racial slurs is like an every-day thing for them. they regularly use racial slurs and that is not good.some other problems that have popped up recently:- the school auditorium has been 'renovated' for over 2 years now. whenever there is an assembly, we are required to sit outside on the concrete with our little fake pillow thing and sit in the sun. we had to sit in the sun during the hot summer and every student was burning in fiery pain.

Worst school in the state of California. The several letters we received regarding the low test scores and the option to send my son out of district because they couldn't keep up with the "No Kid Left Behind" standards, proves this. My son was a "A" and "B" student for years. We unfortunately moved to Alhambra and this school nearly destroyed him. Not just academically, but emotionally and mentally as well. He was being bullied extremely bad, mostly because he was white and blonde with blue eyes. It started to get really out of hand, and when we contacted the principal, we thought the problem would be taken care of. WRONG!!! The principal made it worst by by calling the bully kid in, and made my son wait outside her office while she "didn't mention any names" to the bully kid!! My son ended the year barely passing. And they wouldn't even let him walk at the graduation! They made us pay for a cap and gown, then turned around and told us he couldn't participate and made him and the few other kids that weren't walking, sit and watch all the fun activities the other kids got to be a part of. Like a punishment! He did nothing wrong!! The teachers are very biased as well, except one blonde lady (can't remember her name). She was the only positive thing at this school and the only person who kept him going. She was hard on him, and challenged him, but she also kept him from giving up completely. I detest this school, and I"m so glad we moved away from Alhambra and back to where my son grew up, he has now graduated high school and attending college. Northrup wouldn't even transfer his records over to his high school, so he had to work extra hard to make up for credits that they wouldn't give him credit for! Hate hate hate this school.
