My son has been at Center School for 3 years now and I really do not know what some of these reviewers are talking about - Center School is amazing. My son has multiple learning disabilities and he has not only excelled academically at Center School but also socially. All of the teachers know all of the students, and the students know and support each other across the grade levels. Yes, it is expensive but it is worth every penny. If you have a child who is struggling in public school with learning disabilities I would definitely consider Center School. It is a really special place.

Shining example of Education. A hidden gem that needs to be brought to the forefront. If your student would benefit from smaller class sizes and more personalized lessons, don't wait another minute. Check out Center School!

Center School is an extraordinary place. The students, faculty, and staff's determination, grit, and dedication can be seen everywhere you look. Hearing students sounding out words, supporting each other, and feeling empowered is incredible. The staff and faculty are positive and upbeat and always go the extra mile to support their students. With an established 30+ year history of supporting students who learn differently, Center School retains the excellence of an established program while integrating the best of current research and practice to individualize their instructional programming for each child.

I am a parent reviewing the school. I am reviewing out of concern for future student families that are seeking Level 2 Wilson Reading System teachers for their child. The school does not have Level 2 WRS teachers as of 11/2021. I paid the tuition after verifying these teachers were on staff, then found out this was not true. when the school year began.

My son attended Center School for 6 years. He has developed strategies and confidence that will help him to transition into high school. He has learned to advocate for himself which will serve him well.

Excellent. My son attended Middle School at Center School and it was a wonderful experience. Gained many strategies to help with his language processing issue. He has fond memories and experiences from being at Center School.

My son JoJo started Center School at the of November, 2017, he loves it! We couldn't be happier to see how he has grown over just a few short months. He is so much happier, his confidence is back. Center School has really changed his life. As parents, you always second guess yourself, but we can honestly say that this was the BEST decision we ever made in his education. This was the piece that was missing. I thank Center School for helping my son believe in himself again! Everyone at that school is welcoming!!! We truly love it here!!!

This school saved my grand daughter's educational life. The school did a fantastic job of teaching her how to deal with her learning differences and enabled her to transition back to a more traditional school. The school is a hidden gem. I would strongly recommend this school to any parent or grandparent with a child with learning differences.

Buyer Beware. Center School kept 2/3 of the annual tuition ($19,000) after expelling our son 3 weeks into the school year because he had his head down on his desk and told Mindy that he didn't care if he got in trouble. So you must think, wow, he must have done something really bad, but the truth is, his behavior should have easily been managed in this school if they claim they are a school for "special needs". They pretend they are experts but they are not. They told us he needed 1:1 supervision and now is back in public school thriving in a mainstream classroom with an IEP.My advice, save your money for a more effective, innovative way to help your child.

I have many years as an educator, and much experience with different types of educational establishments (public, private, secular, etc.). After I was hired by Center School in 2015 as the Lower School math teacher, I can't imagine ever working anywhere else. The teachers work endless hours to make each student's academic experience personal and unique.. We do not use text books or packaged curricula, so the content is custom created by each teacher to meet the state's core requirements and the needs of the students.

The leadership is of that of a traditional corporation and not as a school for children with learning differences. The administration is so focused on the money that they do not worry about the wellbeing of the child nor do they show empathy to parents at all. Also there is no ongoing innovation in regards to the curriculum. I recommend spending $3000 more a year and sending any learning disabled child to AIM Academy instead. Huge difference.

The school does not follow through with their promises. They are incapable of providing specialized education to their students. The methods they advertise are nothing close to what they implement in the classroom. They use old, outdated and generalized methods that probably worked a little twenty years ago but in today's learning world, are completely out-of-date. Nothing they offer is grounded into current educational research. The leadership is poor and which probably has a lot to do with the sinking enrollment. Go look at other special needs schools before you waste your money and child's time on this place

Center School has changed my son's life! He is learning, growing and thriving socially, emotionally and academically. I can't express how wonderful and caring all the teachers and staff are in the school and how hard they work to make all the kids a success.

My son came to the Center School as he was not learning to read and write (despite a high IQ) at his private school. He can now write well and reads at grade level and loves it. His self esteem has also improved so much. The Center School teaches students at their level not their grade. So my son gets help where he needs it (reading and writing) and challenged where he needs it (math).

Working at Center School is most rewarding! It is a joy to watch the students increase their reading levels and learn how to use the strategies they need in this supportive environment. So many of our students are able to transition to high school successfully. The teachers are dedicated and innovative, and committed to helping each student learn the best way for each student to learn.

One of the best, caring teachers, small classes and methods that truly work. This school provided me with the tools I needed to have academic success

My son was officially diagnosed with an Auditory Processing Disorder in 1st grade. After much struggle (45 minutes for one sheet of writing homework?), tears and frustration at our local public school, a good friend introduced us to Center School in Abington, PA. The small group, individualized instruction with incredibly smart, talented, caring teachers and leadership is just what my son needed! His self-confidence and desire to learn soared...priceless! My son is now a thriving freshman in college and, still to this day, credits Center School with setting him on the right path and knowing how to advocate for himself. Thank you Center School - I can only imagine where we'd be without you!

When our very bright son was diagnosed with ADD after years of struggling in school, we found Center School in Abington, PA, and enrolled him beginning in 6th grade. (Oh, how I wish I had known about this school earlier!) With excellent teachers who know how to teach to kids with dyslexia, dysgraphia, auditory processing issues, and other learning differences and disabilities, our son is in the most capable hands possible. He's thriving in a nurturing environment and where they "demystify" and normalize everything our kids are living with, opening up what could have been a hostile world for them. The academics are second to none, yet the teachers have creative ways of getting the message through to those with executive function issues and everything else mentioned above. The school is a godsend.
