My children have gone through every grade at St. B's over the past 13 years. I have been over-all very happy. The preschool is amazing. They have a great little program there. Middle School can be tough socially. I feel like thats where most parents tend to encounter issues with ALL schools. My family went through a couple little hiccups through the middle school years but the drama that they encountered was nothing compared to their peers at Abington Public Schools. Yes the middle school teachers are a bit "old school" and some parents don't like hearing that their child isn't always perfect. Most of the problems occur outside of school now with social media...but the kids bring the issue into the school too. For my family I was happy they were in such a structured setting. I felt heard when I did speak, and problems were addressed appropriately. I have had a great working relationship with the nurse, the principal, and every teacher my children have ever had. We have made life long family friends because of St. B's. I feel we get a bargain for our money compared to other parochial schools. I think middle school drama is typical for the age but the way it is handles is fair, and the staff do their best to keep it out of the classroom. My oldest have gone on the Catholic High School and they were well prepared academically. I will miss being part of this little school when my youngest leaves.

Do not send your children to this school. The teachers are rude and do not have respect, compassion, or time for their students. They repeatedly insult and demean students for no reason, and the school administration is complicit. The education is subpar. If you would like your child to feel encouraged and supported throughout their academic career, this is not the school for you.

Pre- Pandemic the landscape of Catholic Elementary education was rapidly changing. Due to the closure of Holy Family (Rockland) and St. Joseph (Holbrook), St. Bridget's enrollment stabilized. Investment was made in the pre-school, K-5, upgrades to textbooks and technology. The current pandemic highlighted the lack of investment in the middle school program in regard to curriculum, instruction and use of technology. Prior to March of 2020 technology was not utilized, for example, no prior use of Google Classroom. Unfortunately, teacher turnover rate is an issue, out of the 10 teachers our child had from 2011-2021 only 3 remain in 2022. Two of the teachers who left and the end of 2021 were at the middle school level and we expressed our concerns that current English Language Arts instructor was not teaching to 21st century standards and had negative student engagement. Our family was part of St. Bridget's for over 10 years and it is a close-knit community. PTO is very active and offers many opportunities to engage with the school as well as fellow parents. Would cautiously recommend Pre-k - 5 but not grades 6-8.

There is no set policies on grading. My child was bullied by a teacher and concerns were brought to the Principal and no action was taken with the teacher. The teacher made derogatory remark regarding my child at an open house in-front of all attendees.

My family has been apart of this school for many years. There is always a welcoming feeling here. You are always greeted with a smile. If there are any concerns with your child the open door policy helps to approach the appropriate person to help you. My daughter loves it here. It is like an extension of her family.

I am very pleased with the school. It is a very small, safe environment. The other students seem to be overall nice kids. Coming from a public school we are very pleased with how SBS is . nurturing environment. The principal is well liked by kids, parents and teachers. The teachers seem to have high expectations but are fair and supportive. The other parents have been welcoming.

This school is amazing. The staff really care about the kids and go out of their way to get to know the families. We are so pleased with the progress our son has made. Hands down the best private school in the area ( the education here rivals Derby academy)

It appears I'm unable to update my review from November 2016, so I've made a new one. Unfortunately after starting out well, SBS did not work out for my kids. They're both back at public school. Upper grades especially have substantial teaching issues. I felt they were very punitive toward the kids and I felt quite blackballed after speaking out regarding my concerns. There were several students that left from the same grade, all in the same week, mid-year. A very unfortunate situation. I wish they would take constructive criticism and try to improve. Their leadership needs to listen to parents and to be more people friendly. It was such a great environment socially. My children's were mostly very happy with their new classmates. It's truly sad that a place with so many nice families is not living up to its potential and not listening to feedback.

My daughter has attended St Bridget's for almost a month and is already showing TREMENDOUS improvements! Her vocabulary, social skills & willing to study more is a amazing! Moving her over from the Whitman school district was one of the best choices we could've ever made for her!

This school is a true gem! Close knit group of families and staff all dedicated to successful children. I know some other reviewers mentioned expensive calendars. I personally know from experience at another private school that this calendar is really the only big expense beyond tuition- which is very affordable. It is a private school, there MUST be fundraisers. What do people expect? GREAT school with a strong parish behind!

St Bridget's is a very close knit community of students ,parents and teachers. The school has a very safe environment feeling. Nothing is brushed under the rug...so to speak. Hot lunches 5 days a week. 4 days are ordered on line. Spanish 3 rd grade(could start sooner if up to me) Love to see a gym in the near future, right now outside on black top or parish building. If this is all the kids know what gym is , it is what they are used to. Now the CON $625.00 a year per family mandatory fundraiser 3 weeks due before Xmas. School board please change this (different time of the year $ due, 2 payments a year ? , PTO fundraisers partial money goes to calendar fundraiser? And unfortunately and surprisingly the teachers are paid much , much less than public. So in turn we have much older teachers hanging in there till retirement days.

Pre-school through 8 grade with before school and after school care. We love this small close knit Catholic school. It has a focus on God & Jesus with a strong academic core. Our kids got into all five high schools they applied to including Xaverian, BC, Archies, Cardinal Spellman and CM out of St. Bridget's. They placed well on the catholic placement tests. This school prepares them well for high school. I like how the teachers and principal keep trying to make the curriculum better. They have Spanish, Art and chorus to round the kids out. Most of the teachers seem to really enjoy their jobs and work hard there. Like all schools they do have fund raisers which aren't fun but is necessary. I just wish it didn't cost so much but you get what you pay for.
