My name is Jackie Buongiorno and I have been a teacher at School 23 for 30 years...my main reason for remaining is simple...the students and families who come to our school deserve the very best...and that is what we give each and every day...test scores are not the sole indicator of whether or not a school is successful...a successful school builds life long relationships with the children it is entrusted with...making sure they are respected, cared for, inspired, and most important...taught to believe they have the ability to do anything they set their minds to...I'm not able to respond to the previous comment that mentions my name, but to the student who wrote it, have no doubt that you made a difference in my life just as much as I did in yours.....thank you.

Absolutely love this school! Though it was many years ago I was there. This school and the teachers mean so much to me! They helped shape me into the woman I have become! Mrs. Jacqueline meyer-buongiorno, thank you so much! She is still there and very dear to me.

The school is located in a rough neighborhood. The previous principal 2013-2014 was amazing! The new principal 2014-2015 is great! My son attended for 2 years (1st & 2nd Grade). The teachers are amazing!!

I doubt if one can go by combination of reviews and Ratings.... Saw many schools with below par ratings such as this school (where my son may go starting Sept 2014). This is making me nervous. Its a tough call...

The principal is great. She is always available to talk to parents. The teachers are awesome. I have 2 kids in this school and they love it there. Its such a welcoming school with a great leader.

School 23 is probably the best school in Yonkers. The kids, teachers and the principal take great pride. Everyone believes that the kids can achieve. Its so awesome.
