Amazing, sweet little school. Innovative, committed, attracts top teacher talent.

Makefield is a gem in the Pennsbury School district. I loved it when my children went through any years ago and now my granddaughter is a student there and its still great. Every teacher she has had has been nurturing and caring. Virtual learning has been made easier to cope with because of the effort of the staff. The PTO has been active with activities through it all and has been great, both when school has been is session and activities for the kids on their web site to keep them engaged and involved. We love Makefield!

My daughter attended Makefield from Kindergarten through 5th grade. It was such a wonderful place. The teachers, staff, and principal were amazing, and it has a very active PTO. Together they provide all sorts of programs for the kids that make school fun and educational (i.e. colonial day, Oktoberfest, family nights, and many more). The principal gets to know all of her students and families. I couldn’t think of a better place to grow up.

Excellent school, even through the pandemic the Staff, teachers, PTO, have made it a great experience. This is our last year before middle school and we will be sorry to leave.

Makefield is an exceptional school -- academically and socially. All three of our children attended and were very well prepared for middle school. The principal and teachers know how to help kids be their best, be kind to one another, and prevent bullying. The school also does a wonderful job of including parents and families in activities -- from the back to school picnic to international night, halloween party, colonial day, St. Patricks Day Breakfast, and more. Our kids also participated in many after school programs and extracurriculars - vocal ensemble, reading olympics, girls on the run, drama club, odyssey of the mind, and more. This school is magical.

This is an amazing school. The teachers are caring and quality teachers. The environment that the principal has fostered makes the kids feel completely at home.

Incredible principal who has righted the ship time and time again. Many teachers are lifers which gives them a true edge for getting the best education. The PTO has a great reputation and relationship with the school which makes being a part of your kids education all the better. It’s a tremendous area to live and having a great school district helps make living here that much of a no-brainer decision. I look forward to many more years with this school with two small children under 7.

My child attended Makefield elementary for two years. As a mother of a bi-racial child I can tell you that I would not recommend this school. The administrative team is unresponsive to parent needs, the kindergarten curriculum was not rigorous enough for any child who attended preschool prior to entry and diversity was not celebrated but negativily stereotyped and pre-judged by the educational team. My family made a decision at the end of first grade to relocate to another school district that mirrored our goals of high academic rigor and acceptance and celebration of differences.

Makefield provides a wonderful foundation for my two daughters who have gone on to successful academic careers.

I have been very pleased with my experience at Makefield. The Principal & Teachers create an environment that is caring and student-centered. The PTO continues the welcoming atmosphere by being actively involved. This 'team' collaboration between principal, teachers, and parents has allowed Makefield to earn its high test scores.

Makefield Elementary is a mixed bag with a good reputation. Makefield has a few great teachers, some poor ones and the average majority. Principal is active and visible, but doesn t actively seek feedback and glosses over some issues. Students residing in affluent surrounding neighborhoods are smart kids prepped to compete in and outside of school. PTO is active and runs constant fund-raisers; MESPTO financial/personnel support is expected by the teachers and administration. Makefield has reasonably good PSSA results, but has slipped recently relative to other district schools that have started prepping students. We agree that there may be a friendship cabal consisting of certain teachers and administrators to fill teaching vacancies, choose students for classes and activities, deal with school issues, etc. so it is best to watch what you say or else be prepared to face subtle recrimination from the insiders.

Makefield Elementary has a special principal whose enthusiam and dedication permeates from the top down to teachers and staff that really care and cater to each child's individual needs.

Agree w review of 11/11/06. Administration and staff we have dealt w are very unprofessional and unwilling/unable to accommodate for individual student needs.
