I too am a parent that has a daughter at Philo. When school first started , i was siting at a dentist appt. and an older lady just wanting to talk said hi, your son looks like he is very smart this was my 4 yr. old I said thank you, he is. Well the conversation went on and she asked where do your children go to school and i said Philo. As soon as i said that her demeanor changed. And she said i had a grandson there and plzz i ask of you to look out for your daughter, my grandson was a great student and when he entered there he did a complete u turn he went down hill. And of course i was worried but i thought i would give this school a try ... SO HERE I AM GIVING THIS SCHOOL THE WORST GRADE I CAN GIVE IT A 1 . NOT HAPPY MY DAUGHTER ALSO CHANGED AND I KNOW WHY IT'S BECAUSE OF PHILO !! PLEASE PARENTS LOOK AROUND IF YOU HAVE THE CHANCE DON'T DO WHAT I DID!! MY DAUGHTER IS MOVING SCHOOLS AS I AM TYPING THIS :)

I too am a parent of a student at this school. My daughter has not bought home any homework since she started there in Novemeber 2012. The first point of contact is of course the receptionist, who is very rude. The stories I have heard about the teacher student interaction is horrifying. Parents have a responsibility as well to make sure not only that the teachers are doing what they need to be doing but to make sure their child is behaving and that they know you will be there.

Im not really sure what to say about this school. All I have heard is that this school is no good, it is a bad school. This is my son's first year there and he seems to be doing fine. He does come home daily almost and says "mom there was another fight today". This has been said dince the first day of school. He was afraid to go there because of what everyone was saying about that school. He is doing fine there for now. He doesn't have much homework though, this may be why this school has such low ratings county wide???? As for the staff His homeroom teacher did not make a very good impression at open house. No introduction, no hi how are you, here is what you need nothing. I have had to call the office a few times to let them know that he hasn't returned his Wednesday folder to his teacher and they got mouthy with me telling me it is MY responsibility to talk to him about being responsible with returning his things to school. I know I have a responsibility but they do too. It goes both ways. PARENTS and TEACHERS have to WORK TOGETHER.. Just still not sure about this one???!!
