I have 2 children that attended Jones Elem 2017-2018 school year. I have 1 in the 2nd grade and his teacher was replaced 3/4 times my self nor my husband ever received any letter from the school explaining the changes. The last 6 months he had a substitute teacher and his grades never showed any difference from the 2nd 9 weeks in school. His report cards came home the exact same. He took several reading test throughout the year that said he was reading on his level than his last 1 showed his was reading above his level, but his "teacher" still had on his report card "Needs Improvement" that had been up there since his 2nd 9 weeks report card. No communication on what needed to be improved. Checked his backpack, nothing in his folders to help him improve anything. Now, my 4th grader had a teacher who when she asked for help the teacher paid more attention to the disruptive students then providing the help my child asked for. I have stayed in contact with this teacher for the last 6 months faithfully between emails and visits to the school. There was no prep for the EOG, she never came home with homework or study packets. There was no concern for any child in that class. This teacher was more worried about if she can add my child to snapchat. On top of it all, I have reached out to the Principle of the school and no response or any type of follow up. My children will not return to Jones Elem. I suggest yours don't either

Horrible by the bullying that happens supposivly without teachers seeing it. It's also a lot of race based discrimination. Sometimes I think the teachers are scared of the students.

Just to be clear, just bc a teacher has a Simon award does NOT make them a great human being, and just bc they are board certified does NOT make them great either with people, good teachers at Jones, but very unappealing staff, principal is very cold hearted so are all the TA people, they are rude and awful. If you were there on a regular basis then you would see why the school has a 3 rating. Just bc someone teaches well does NOT make it good there, one TA has a felony there writing bad checks all around, one grabs children you really should do your research.

We moved to Wilson from Reno Nevada and didn't know the area and this is the school my daughter transferred into during kindergarten and it was great she loved it, we had moved across town and she attended another school for 1st grade and she has liked it but keeps asking if she can go back to jones so we r now buying a house in the jones school district so she go there and be with her friends ! I as parent like jones as well. The staff teachers and facility are awesome .

Jones Elementary School is a wonderful school! Several staff members received Simon Awards this year! Many teachers are nationally board certified as well. The teachers and entire staff are not only highly qualified in their areas, but also provide a caring and nurturing environment for children to learn and reach their full potential. I LOVE Jones Jaguars!!!!!
