Odyssey Charter - Pressure cooker- waiting to explode. You are fine K-5 then it’s downhill from there. If student is a person of color be prepared to fight for your child, they will be sidelined for behavior and put into lower level class and basically driven out, if in sports they will be benched and sent in for last 2 minutes of a game just to say they were allowed to “play”. All they care about the grades and being the number 1 school in Delaware at the expense of students, they have not created an environment where the student is excited to learn, they have created an environment where your kid dreads school and kills their self esteem. They want robots who spit out A’s. They do not want the “whole child”. Trying to work with administration is painful at best, will not listen to feedback and NOTHING gets resolved. Best of luck with transportation dept- a total joke.

I do not recommend if you have a child of color or a student who has disabilities. The school looks great on paper and that’s all. They do not care about the students unless they are getting straight As, if you’re student struggles and have issues they overlook them. Some of the teachers are racist and some of the administrators are as well. Also, they do not do anything for bullying! They sweep a lot of things under the rug because they want to look good on paper. I would not recommend this school at all.

Outstanding. We are very happy and consider ourselves very lucky to be part of the Odyssey community.

Absolutely horrible!!! Discrimination, favoritism at its finest. The only thing I can do for others is to warn them to document EVERYTHING. I had to transfer my children out after 8years and the staff at Odyssey went out of their way to make the transition harder then it should have been. TEACHERS AND ADMIN STAFF ARE VERY PETTY...

Poor it’s so so for k and first. Then it gets worse year after year.

Teachers are very hard working, and the students are a close knit group of kids. However, the administration really does ruin everything good about this school. Overall I would say it’s a 6/10.

Students with special needs are left in the dust. Admin is unreachable and condescending. Teachers are hard working, but often left with their hands tied by an overbearing administration who micro-manages their every move.

Teachers have been supportive accommodating, more so than in other local schools. The teachers, especially in the older grades are making a tremendous effort to prepare our kids rather than playing nice with them and simply following a curriculum. Kudos to all of you for giving it your all, caring, and involving parents!

Most of the teachers were good however not the Greek teachers. They had unrealistic expectations of the children. The bullying were out of control and the administration is pathetic. Nothing was done to repeat offenders who were bullies. It appears most teachers don't see anything when it comes to bullying..... Allowing the bullies to continue their behavior. Many of the parents are naive about this school.

Learning and what they learn awesome. Especially k-5 the middle and high school not so great because they haven't been around so long...learn 4 to 5 stars. The administration and rules ways too harsh only a 2...they make thing over dramtic for tiny things giving dermis for not wearing a belt or the wrong color socks or shoes. I have two kids at the school and been with the school 4 years now, the circulum could be much more diverse. I've brought this up several times but their is very little to none on any diverse populations, like Asia Americans, African Americans, women, Hispanics...which is truly a shame since the population has changed drastically through the years.

I have 2 children at OCS. My daughters experience at OCS is everything a parent could hope for and more...which is night and day with my sons experience. The problem I see with OCS is when your child does not fit into thier cookie cutter student image...this is when things get worrisome. Students needing accommodations need to prepare to go up against the school... This school plays fast and loose with IEP's and often disregards them when they are inconvenient. I believe OCS would much rather push these kids and parents out of the school then take the time to actually help that child....I think their numbers are too important to them and they forget sometimes that not everyone learns the same.

I have been pleased with the academic quality of the school, overall. The PTO is fantastic and attempts to keep parents informed as well as provide enriching experiences for the students. As several recent reviewers mentioned, the teaching staff is unexperienced as a whole and have difficulty with basic classroom and behavior management. This is particularly true of the Greek teachers. The administration is often reactive instead of proactive in dealing with issues and concerns which makes resolving concerns, frustrating at best.

The education is excellent. The teachers are responsive, as well as the administration. I am excited about the upcoming changes including a sports complex with a swimming pool. I would like to see a sports bus because getting to the after school activities is very difficult now, and causes my children to be excluded a lot. I also don't like that they must stay after school to participate in chorus and some other activities. Because the school is growing, however, parents and students both, have a lot of input. I believe the school will only get better going forward. My daughter has been in this school since third grade and I've been very happy with her education, so I intend to keep her there.

The elementary school seems ok. I am not so sure about the middle school. What I noticed from my 6th grader is that one of his best friends who is mostly a straight A student has left for another school this year, and aother one is also trying to enroll at another school.

the school used to be great 5-6 years ago but NOT anymore. The teachers of middle school are inexperienced young people who just finished their degree. The elementary-lower school has a principle who tries to cover and hide all the problems without giving a solution, the counselor at the lower-elementary school should get a different job. The seventh grade is completely out of control . This school was great and we all loved it when it started. Now my kids ask me to change schools.

We really love Odyssey charter School. The teachers encourage the children to think outside of the box. My sons are in 4th & 7th grades and love to come home and share what they have learned. They are very eager to go to school each day because they are learning new innovative things. The school has become a second family to us and we have made friends that will last a lifetime.

This was our 1st year at Odyssey in grades 1 and 3. I can't say enough good things about this school. The staff is excellent and so very caring. The education is first class. I can't believe how much my daughters have excelled at this school. Its like getting a private education.
