The principal at this school is terrible. She allows kids to bully other kids. She supposedly solves problems by giving the disruptive students treats. I have also caught her in lies a few times. I don’t trust her at all. After giving this a school a chance for a couple of years, I’m pulling my kids out and putting them in private school until we can move to a better area.

There is always bullying and always drama with this school! There is always at least 3 kids who go home everyday, crying because someone was bullying them. The school food isn't the best and so is the principal. There are SO MANY FIGHTS!! The school also isn't very clean. They aren't strict about bad words and that is a HUGE concern for me! The school overall isn't great! I would not let my child go here.

For the last couple of years the API scores have been dropping at Carmela. The district is finally stepping up and making changes at this school. Carmela has some of the finest teachers, but without a good, strong leader, its hard to stay on task--especially with the class sizes being so overwhelming. Hopefully this year we will start seeing a change at Carmela.

My child was in a combination class two years in a row. This definitely affected his academic progress in a negative way. I requested a change to another class which wasn't a combo, but my request was not granted. My child's math and language arts scores have dropped considerably this last year. I'm disappointed that many of the same students end up in the combo classes. What a disservice to our kids.
