My son went to this elementary school and I have no complaints about it. He was challenged all throughout his years there and the challenge helped him excel. It is important when reviewing a school that honest opinions are given and not just opinions based on demographics.

Fantastic environment for learning. Very supportive and tenured teachers who genuinely cares for the students. Lots of similarities you find in a private school but it’s public.

Great school that can only be beat by paying 30K for a private school. Good to see the excessive taxes in WW paying off. Each of my children have excelled academically and I believe it is to the base that Dutch Neck provided.

Teachers are too concerned about their own personal matters or furthering their career goals, constantly absent from the classroom or keeping kids busy in the class by turning on videos for them. My son learned nothing substantive all 3 years. Principal just tries to keep status quo and does nothing to fix the problems...he's only there to keep his teachers happy. I wonder if it's the kids who get after school tutoring that make this district get such good rankings because it's definitely not the teachers. Maybe other schools in the district are better, but this school was a very big disappointment for us.

Mr. Argese is more concerned in his own image then being a TRUE principal, it is not a coincidence that it is ALWAYS Maurice Hawk and Wycoff the schools that go and give presentations to the BOE and not DN. Argese only wants to be in his office and not be bothered, he is always happy to put the blame on the student instead of the adult. It is terrible that a blue ribbon school district has changed all the curriculum and now they devoted over 6 weeks to PARCC and give 3erd graders Chrome Books to train them for the exam, like if our kids are robots! DISGUSTING!

The teachers and principal are very friendly. They create an environment for children to empower themselves. PTA is very good.

Overall School is older. Music Teacher is great and our child needed assistance with extra reading, teacher they got for this was awesome. Past this, can't say very much positive. Principal only wants parent involvement when money is involved. Since it was our child's first year in school, we asked if we could come in on the first day, and was flat out told no!!! Very poor for his role. Our child's current teacher is boring, and plays favorites in class. Our child used to come home and talk about his prior teacher and all of the great things, not the case this year. You would think teachers at this age group would want to teach, this one appears to only be there for a job. Tonight when I picked up from the after school programs, side gym door open, no security and no one to sign out the kids. Self service, Security Gaurd Did show up, but was more worried about texting on his phone. Wish I could share the photo, kind of scary. I would stay clear of this school. Hawk Elementary from our friends feedback is great and appears to be the exact opposite. Hope this insight helps!

The school administration staffs are not friendly, and teachers only care on their own teaching performance, rather than learning of each child in their class. They do not like parent involvement, and there is no set-route for communication with teachers and/or principals. When you ask question on school adminitration, they are always very defensive. Unless your child is super bright and submissive, you will have lots of problesm in communicating with the school.

Teachers motivate the kids to bring out their potentials. Excellent music and language teachers. This school comes up with many creative activities throughout the school year in various areas of interests.
