This school good but at the same token an alumni who did a lot did revive any rectification for all of his efforts towards all the work for the school

Probably one of the worst private schools out there. The bullying is unreal, nothing is done about it and the language and actions that are done to you child by another student or teachers/administrators are so bad it will leave you shocked. Slurs and derogatory language are thrown at your child and other students. Cyber bullying is also a big issue and nothing is done about it. The academics also suck they will hold your child’s hand and give them every answer and then when it comes to tests your kid will either get the answers from the teachers or fail miserably. If you want to avoid stress in your life don’t go to this school you are not missing anything and the people and other students that your child will be exposed to is probably going to leave them scarred. STAY FAR AWAY!!!!!!

This school does not support students who question or challenge the status quo. If your child has any behavioral and/or need emotional support (and lets be honest- kids with adhd have both, not to mention all children having lived through a global pandemic), this is not the school for you. They will be targeted as a discipline issue. They use intimidation and are less than transparent. Expensive watered down education. Everything looks good on surface- but scratch beneath and the value is just not there.

The Woodlynde upper school teachers don’t have degrees in education or adequate training in special education, i.e. ADHD, learning disabilities, executive function disorder, etc. Woodlynde doesn’t have adequate support staff who can read psychoeducational evaluations and write appropriate education plans. There is no curriculum except for whatever teachers feel like teaching including Amazon Prime videos and inappropriate movies. Many teachers are absent often and substitutes are not brought in so kids are left to sit on their phones with not lessons being taught for days on end. Discipline is inconsistent and inappropriate.

Pay to pass! Too many days off and way too many field trips, most of which have nothing to do with curriculum or education. Homework is non-existent. They boast 100% college acceptance, but the don't tell you that it's to community college and that most kids drop out after the first year.

My child entered Woodlynde in the 3rd grade and was unable to read, write and do arithmetic (really she couldn't). Woodlynde has transformed her from a child who had difficulty learning with a rapidly declining low self esteem who was just so uncertain about herself that she began to shy away from social situations to a young woman who is now taking honors courses, advocating for herself, and is participating in life to its fullest. They not only restored quality of life for my daughter but for my entire family. I cannot thank them enough! Thank you Woodlynde!!! They really do care about their about students and their success.

This school turned a student who disliked school into a student who excelled academically and socially. Woodlynde turned my son into a leader and a lifelong learner.

Woodlynde School, with its small classes and special attention from teachers, is exactly what my child needed to do well and gain confidence.

As a current student entering my senior year, I've found the Woodlynde School harbors and encourages not only laziness and lack of self-determination amongst its students, but a lack of respect for others is rampant among students as well. Many students have a multitude of behavioral disorders that can interrupt the learning environment that other students are expected to work around. Complaints to administration do nothing to change the way things are ran. Bullying is severe and you will find many scrutinize others for how they dress, act, and the amount of money they have. All in all they care much more about the money--the tuition is OUTRAGEOUS for the abysmal education one receives here--being lended to the institution than the wellbeing of their students. Kids can NEVER FAIL here and that is where Woodlynde fails. Uninspired kids are spoonfed what they should be working hard for--good grades and the like. The only reason I am glad I go here is the relationships I have made with others.

My son started in Woodlynde when he was 6 years old. He couldn't read, had been diagnosed with 1) Dysgraphia 2) Dysnomia 3) Dyspraxia 4) Dyslexia 5) Language Learning Disability 6) Nonverbal Learning Disability 7) Working memory disorder 8) Auditory Processing Disorder to name just a few of his learning differences. In his senior year of high school his required internship was with Wharton and MIT graduates in NYC which he achieved on his own. He also took physics, calculus and java programming. Incredibly, he worked in New York City, to our amazement! His executive functioning skills are better than mine. My older two sons--who graduated from Columbia University and Wharton (both ivy league colleges and they went there undergrad) never took physics nor programming. . When I look back at where he was--it was the education, culture, amazing teachers that gave our son the skills, executive functioning, strategies, and foundation that will give my son the ability to achieve his dream to be a software engineer. He graduates in three days and will go to college! Woodlynde is simply the most amazing school in the world! THEY ARE FABULOUS FOR ANY CHILD WITH LEARNING DIFFERENCES!!!!

As I wrap up my first year of college, I can not even begin to express my gratitude and appreciation for Woodlynde. I would not be where I am today without the amazing teachers and administration. I came to this school being shy and lacking self confidence. Today, I am proud of who I am and where I came from. I could write books on what Woodlynde has taught me, but the most important thing is that it gave me self confidence and taught me to believe in myself. Not only did the school support me and helped me grow throughout my 5 years there, but I continue to get support and love in college though emails, phone calls and letters from the school. Thank you Woodlynde!

I loved going to school here. If I had not ended up attending The Woodlynde School, I would not be the professional I am today. I am grateful for the wonderful teachers I had who gave me the support to explore my interests, the confidence to endure life's challenges, and the great example they set for us each and every day.

We have learned first hand that The Woodlynde School is not the institution it proclaims to be.Our daughter started in first grade and we had a positive experience.Second grade was an epic failure in a multitude of ways and we withdrew her in March. 1-There is a complete lack of communication unless parents proactively reach out. The first time our daughter s Wilson and math teacher reached out to us was mid January. This was only after we proactively reached out to her.2. Failure to keep our child safe. The teachers and administration also failed to keep her safe while in school from another student. This resulted in us having to withdraw her from the school midyear and uprooting her from all of her friends. 3.During our admission interview, we asked if there were many children in the school with behavioral issues and were told no. In our experience, the average student has multiple emotional and behavioral issues not a primary diagnosis of a learning disability. In our opinion, the financial health of the institution is the primary focus of the current administration, not the well-being and academic advancement of the child. We regret ever having enrolled our child at this school.

We placed our son in the Kindergarten Class last year and kept him here for 1st grade. He did not know how to read in Kindergarten, and he's now reading at a 4th grade instructional level!!! We like the way they teach math too. We have a boy who "loves" school now! The teachers go above and beyond in everything they do. We considered moving him to another school, but decided not to, as he's been super successful here. We can't imagine a better education. Also, the teachers have many special certifications beyond advanced degrees.

I attended Woodlynde from 2nd Grade-12th grade & received an incredible education. I entered this school as a shy Lower School student who struggled with reading and immediately made tremendous growth and progress, as the result of the support of my teachers. The small class sizes & research driven instruction enabled me to come out of my shell, become a confident learner, and achieve my academic goals. Throughout my years at Woodlynde, my classmates & I benefited from hands-on, creative instruction-this included learning multiplication facts by engaging in song and dance, creating an animal cell model in Biology with a cake, & acting out scenes from Shakespeare in English. In high school, there were many opportunities to take classes on the Honors or AP level and I constantly felt challenged, yet supported in my academic endeavors. There were also many opportunities to become involved in extracurricular activities, such as field-hockey, tennis, & the school play. I still remain close friends with many of the students in my grade and credit Woodlynde for preparing me for college. I recently graduated from college and got accepted into a Master s program at Columbia University.

The Woodlynde School has made enjoyable for my niece. Reading is not a chore but an activity she enjoys doing independently. No more slaving over homework. Thank you Woodlynde for the "community" support and concern that she feels from the time she arrives each day until she returns home.

Woodlynde School transformed my sons life for the better. He is in sixth grade now and he is confident, energetic and engaged. A traditional school with large class sizes was challenging for our son due to the additional time he needs to process information. The incredible student/teacher ratio allows him to LEARN. I've found the faculty to be tireless in their efforts to use every means necessary to build successful and resilient youngsters. The children are wonderful and they are empowered to create new and exciting programs. Because many of the older students struggled in the earlier grades, they are a tremendous resource for the younger ones. They take this mentoring very seriously.
