I had two kids go through the Radnor school system k-12. Each step along the way, teachers went out of their way to make sure my kids were safe and learning at an appropriate rate. Both excelled and certainly seemed to enjoy the experience. My interaction with the staff, although limited, showed me involved educators making a 1st class effort .

The Radnor Middle School, needs to step up on there administrative game when it concerns bullying. There is a lot of students that bully other students. I have spoken to several parents that have mentioned how bad the bullying is at this school. They pulled there kids out of this school. Nothing is said about this and is swept under the rug.

The school appears to have all the markings of a great school. However, it is average at best. The only reason that it qualifies as average is that it is generally a clean and safe environment. As for the academics and curriculum, the school is well below average. All work is done on computer, the assignments are generic and seemed to just be given to keep the students occupied. The teachers are uninspiring and while a few do work hard, most just seem to be that for the paycheck. The only reason this school is so highly rated, is because the bar is set so low.

School is run by people who hate their jobs and actively discuss this in front of children. It functions like a prison. I’m the parent of an 8th grader and have never been in the building. Staff is hostile, learning minimal. Save your money, live out of district, go private. This is a terrible school with weak academics.

I'm glad that I graduated this year and will never walk into that school again, unless to acknowledge the rare occurrence of a nice staff member. This place is a breeding ground of toxicity and not respecting differences. The only good students are hard to find. If you are going to Radnor Middle School as a student: please do not use cuss words or slurs and respect everyone. If you are going to Radnor Middle School as a new teacher: PLEASE actually be nice to your students and notice if there's something wrong. Also, please punish the rulebreaker, no matter what they look like. They broke a rule and who they are shouldn't affect the outcome.

Exceptional experience with committed teachers. The 8th grade Soundings program was amazing; our son grew as a student this year more than any-a direct result of the Soundings teachers.

Our family relocated to PA and this district from out of state just before my son's 7th grade year. The move was a difficult transition for our family and we came from a school district that was highly rated. I can say unequivocally that the experience at RMS far exceeded our expectations. The teachers, staff, programming are all excellent. My son has thrived.

Generally, it was terrible. The only good thing about it was the teachers who truly cared and wanted to support their students. This, though, was a rarity. This school worsened my mental health and academic stress. I would never put my child through this viable torture.

Terrible. Not responsive to request to see principal. She is not available to parents.

A genuinely awful experience, despite the fact that new leadership was supposed to address the problems other have mentioned here. Some caring and dedicated teachers, helpless against callous and reckless administration. We pulled our child out and then discovered essentially our entire neighborhood had made the same decision long before we did. It keeps winning awards because it only "invests in excellence." For the merely mediocre or worse students, this place is a cesspool. .

RMS suffers from very poor leadership. Many things are poorly managed and poorly communicated and the teachers are alternately demoralized and contented that the building leaders don't watch and don't care. The school does a particularly bad job with boys and many parents pull their sons out to private schools. Core academics are weak, not enough writing, very poor math that falls apart at the high school. Class sizes are way more than promised at 25-28. The school board has been trying to push out the principal for years with no success yet. One assistant principal quit mid year he was so fed up with being blamed for the principal's incompetence. PLUSES: The school building is amazing it's brand new and wonderful, with great light and windows and space and located right in the middle of a beautiful town so lots of kids walk. The music department is huge and does great things with the huge amount of resources its given. Parent volunteers put together a couple of great after school clubs. The PTO is loaded but they don't do anything meaningful with the money. The girls seems to feel very empowered and do better academically, though the mean girl and drama factor is bad.

This is the best school that I think that anyone could hope for. There are 10 iPads in every science room and more in special integrated programs. There are also about 30 to 35 laptops per team and these are all used well. For example, iPads may be used to make a Prezi or play the review jeopardy game. Not talking about the technology, the school sports are encouraging, on top of gym. Me, being a student, can see much more rapid improvement in my grades than peers in schools surrounding me. Also, Radnor Middle School provides good levels of need. For example, there is excel, honors, and advanced (normal) math. There is also an extra class during advisory that allows students who need extra help with their math skills can attend to help improve upon them. In addition, to the already existing advisory and SOS (homeroom in the morning and afternoon) that students can use to go to their teachers and ask questions, get catch-up homework, and work on projects or extra work during.

This is not the Radnor of old......I am profoundly dissatisfied with the Radnor School District. I have had first hand experience with 2 generations of children, approx. 15 years apart, going thru the system. It once WAS a top notch district...WOW, what a stunning decline!! Don't get me wrong, the teachers are very nice and they mean well but the curriculum is seriously flawed, especially the new "CommonCore" curriculum. (It's actually a little scary once you start to dissect it) Also, the teachers tell me they are under pressure to "Teach for the tests", the PSSA's, ERB's, Keystone exams etc. This is how the District will be RATED. It's all about the ratings!! Ratings equal money, ratings do NOT equal the student's actual knowledge. The majority of the School Board members live in a dream world, yearly tax increases, crying how tight the budget is and now VOLUNTARILY pushing for full day kindergarten classes WITHOUT the input of the residents. I personally know 3 families who are pulling out their kids, 1 family is moving out of the District altogether. Don't be fooled by it's past reputation.....the Radnor Schools we knew in the past no longer exist. Very sad......

Radnor middle school is a horrible school. First of all it has a horrible science department. When I used to go there I would not be able to learn a thing and i would always listen to what my teacher said. This school is horrible overall. Do not take ur kids to this school because it will not teach them anything and they will be extremly dissappointed with the school. I suggest you take ur kids to a private middle school where they will be challenged.
