It's a school that only cares about the athlete's and know one else and the teaching is subpart to a school like Dowling Catholic which is what the school gets compared to. Plus their are way to many students in the school which brings up problems with class selection and being able to fit a certain number of kids in a class. Also they fit about three teachers in a room sometimes which is very weird for a school to do, and they should of started the construction of a new high school way sooner, but it winds down to a bunch of Rich kids who don't care about School

Waukee High School prepares students for the next chapter in their lives. I have one in college now who is doing very well because of the Waukee High School system. I have 2 others that will graduate this year and will enter college as sophmores because of the classes available to them through the school.

As a recent graduate that is now in college, I think Waukee prepared me very well for the next step in my education. I have seen kids that went to Des Moines metro and area schools that are struggling with things that I learned in 10th grade at Waukee. There is a strong emphasis on athletics here, but there are also many opportunities for band, speech, choir, theatre, and language clubs that all boast wonderful programs. I can say this because I have been in these programs along with many of my friends. The faciities are top notch, the programs are wonderful, and one would be hard-pressed to find a better high school education in the Des Moines area.
