Maybe if my son learned like the average child this school would be ok. But he doesn't and they can't seem to help him. They have said they will accommodate and try to keep him focused but I haven't seen any changes. He has medical needs also and the they don't even have a nurse just an associate who isn't very good. My son was sick and I went into the school to get him. He was sitting up front by himself on a chair. I mean why have a bed in a nurse room if she didn't want to use it. He could have been laying down at least, he was miserable.

I'm in the minority here, but we are not happy with Brookview. It opened when our oldest daughter was in 3rd grade. She came from West Des Moines schools and was retaught everything she learned in 2nd grade, so at the time, they were a year behind another local school. The school also is not accommodating for those with disabilities, which is something they are required to do. Most of the staff is very nice, but my youngest daughter's teacher last year seemed a bit on the lazy side, never posting on her blog the updates like all the other teachers we have had do. You will hear rave reviews of the Waukee school district but I have issues with them with so many issues regarding all 3 of our children.

Brookview is a great great school we have been there 10 years - all of the teachers are wonderful, and Mr. Terry Hurlburt the principal is on the cutting edge of everything.

We moved from Maryland to Iowa 4month ago & our 2nd grader son loves this school. And I really appreciated his teacher Mrs Traetow for working with us. She always inform parents by email about what is going in the classroom, sharing pic of the kids activities...etc... Really love it & of course planning to stay in the waukee community as well

Its been three weeks since the school started and have not done anything in the class room. Every time if there is a problem and the answer is we have so many kids. Instead of handling the problem they are making excuses.

Love Truscott. My son attends a school in Colorado now and it doesn't even begin to compare. Mrs. Mullenbach is a great teacher! Highly recommend Brookview over West Des Moines schools!
