- Submitted by parent on January 30, 2013Spanish Dual Immersion Program: This is the ONLY school in the area of Redondo Beach that has a Spanish Immersion program. This program is fantastic! On the first week of school my son was singing spanish songs he didn't know. Now that he is on the WInter quarter, he is reading AND writing as well. All of the kids are thriving. Not one is "out of place" or lost in the new language. It is very important to understand that the majority of these kids are NOT spanish speakers or do not have any sort of spanish influence. Both AM and PM teachers are very involved. The parents as well. In class we help out with regular chores (cutting papers, prepping projects, etc) as well as volunteer with lessons (LiveWell, computer lab). The principal, Jackie O'Sullivan, is FENOMENAL. She is very involved with the children's learning, and with this spanish program too. For all the parents that are looking into a Spanish program specifically, this is the school to do it in. Come and take a tour of the program... it's amazing!
