We moved from a much larger school community and I admit I was a little nervous about academics when moving to this much smaller school district but my kids have excelled here. I love the smaller class sizes and how all the support staff and teachers know my kids' names and personalities here. They are reading at grade level or above and same with their math skills. Their stress levels are much lower here than in the big schools as well.

North use to be the most loving school, you knew your child was with the best . The teachers were happy, the teachers mattered. Now you can tell you are not welcome in that school. The kids are miserable the teachers can have no opinions or they will be bullied to change their minds or else . If you are a parent, good luck !! If you are a teacher looking for a job go elsewhere.

When they got the new principal the school went down fast. You have to have administration that cares about the students and the teachers. THe reading or you can't go on field trips. SERIOUSLY. This is a sure way to have kids hate reading. Parents want to get involved but don't feel they can due to the principal. She is clueless of how a GOOD school needs to operate. If she would be concerned about this instead of reputation the school might have a chance. If there is a better option then this school, then do it. Go back to teaching the way it should. Have a principal who is involved and makes the parents feel they have a voice in the education of their children. If so many people/parents are dissatisfied, then why isn't something being done to get a new principal. Get back to the roots of teaching and educating the kids. It's about the children NOT the principals reputation. From what I see not many people are happy with the current situation. If children aren't happy, then they will NOT learn. At this point a new principal needs to be hired and the current principal relieved from her position. Good luck parents and kids.

This is not a school to send children to. The administrators are a tyrannical presence. Half the kids are failing and your children are only well treated if you have money to donate. As an educator, I am appalled at the shenanigans that occur in this district. If you want your children to receive a decent education send them to Lincoln or Cole Camp.

I will NOT allow my kids to go to school here. I am homeschooling as a better option to this school.

If you have an option, DO NOT send your children to this school. There is absolutely no educational value to the classroom environment. The teachers are instructed to only teach material required to pass state standardized testing. There is no push to further the excellence of the students. Students who are not proficient get pushed to the side and do not get the attention they need in order to correct issues and teach them properly. They are allowed to fail. The school administration cares more about their reputation and image than the actual teaching of the students. My children have been in this school district for many years and after the first year, I was no longer impressed with ANYTHING. There are a select few teachers who care enough to buck the system, but as soon as they do, they are fired. the turn over rate amongst the staff is the highest I have ever seen in any district that I have ever been affiliated with.
