I am very disappointed in this school and the favoritism that is shown towards the Caucasian children compared to the African American children. My granddaughter has repeatedly been bullied and called some horrible names by multiple students and all the discipline the Caucasian children have received is a "Racial Slur Letter," according to the principal. So my granddaughter can be called a N----- and it is treated like just some name calling. This is unacceptable !!!!In an African American's world “n-----” is a threat. Evidently this is not taught in this school. To have this kind of behavior is Okay with this school as long as you are Caucasian. You can call another person any kind of ugly name you want and all you will get is a letter or a slap on the hand. Byrd has such high standards yet so selective to whom those standards apply to. So if you condone this behavior by all means put your child in this Racist school, but if your child is different and you love them and do not want them to be tortured on a daily bases please put them in another school. Not at all impressed. Teachers are not involved, they do not contact parents about grade issues, special education needs children receive less-than subpar assistance, bullying is at a high level with no real repercussions for offenders.

Excellent teachers that care a great deal about their students. The faculty and staff diligently work to make sure the students get the best education possible.
