We love Helke and all the dedicated teachers! My son loves stepping foot into the building each day!

My son is in 1st grade at Helke and has a wonderful teacher. He is doing so well, he learned how to read this year and has been reading ahead of his level now too. His teacher does a great job of communicating with us and he is learning and growing in leaps and bounds. We love Helke!

Very unhappy with this school. My step-daughter is falling below average. My son attends Dayton Public Schools, which I use to not be too thrilled with, but after this experience I'm so glad I kept him there!! The teachers fail to communicate to the parents regarding assignments, rules, etc. There is FAR too much homework for a 1st grader. And when we tried to talk to the teacher and principal about all of this they were defensive and pretty rude. Oh, and the teacher wrote a long E-mail about the whole incident and sent it to all the parents in the class (very unprofessional). If you're thinking about sending your child to Helke, don't. Unless you like to do 3 hrs worth of homework a night with your child. Or, you like being confused about your child's education and then being reprimanded for trying to figure it out.

disapointing, This is my childs first year and so far grades are dropping and progress has stopped. when I voiced my concerns the teacher and princable became very defencive, then promised it would improve but so far has continued to decline
