As a former student of Rushmore Elementary (in the past decade) I sincerely believe this school would not be a good choice to send your children to. When I was there we had 4 principles in 6 years, constant understaffment due to teachers quitting, and (from my experience going there during COVID) extremely lazy and uncaring teachers. Also in the past 2 years my autistic sibling was sent to that school (for under a year) and she immediately started acting meaner and more aggressive due to the other students in the room with her (there were less than 5 students in that room and 3 or more teachers at a time). After a little under a year my parents took her out of that school and sent her to another Huber school in the meantime (Charles Huber) and we have recently come to find out Rushmore hasn't had a certified special needs instructor in over 2 YEARS. This just goes to show how little Rushmore actually tries to save money and provide needed services for there student's. This is only instance of MANY that I have witnessed not just only Rushmore but many other Huber Schools being managed poorly and affecting the students learning and services. This is not a school I would EVER recommend sending your children to.

Coming from a person who used to go to this school and my perspective. This school is kinda average They are good in some areas and bad in other areas. They really need to work on a topic called bullying, that has been a very major problem the time I've been there (k-6th). They also really need to work on S.A this is a very bad problem with this school it even had happen to me. The most recent principle not saying name is very bad at handling situations. But this schools teacher are very nice and helpful I can tell that they care for the students and their learning!

In my experience at this school as a student I was treated poorly the first year. I was bullied and even when reaching out for help like I was advised to do, I was told nothing could be done. Some teachers are amazing at what they do but there are more than enough times I can recall of instances that got out of hand.

I went to this school, in my experience a lot of things could have been better on both the students behalf and the staff.

This school deserves a 5 star rating. The principal has personally reached out to New families via phone and email. The teachers are caring and go above and beyond to communicate with parents.

2 of 2 This school district needs to improve many things and I felt it would not happen. He no longer attends Huber Heights Schools! I have made many financial sacrifices to send him and my other children to a private school. He no longer struggles, his grades are up, and he is almost caught up academically. I see the standardized test preparation in the daily work they do, not just the week before the test. I also use to hear many stories of bulling. I observed teachers outside socializing instead of supervising the kids so I was not surprised at what my son told me. I no longer hear of bulling but of fun at recess. I am also very happy my children will not be attending Wayne HS.
