Carden Arbor View School has been an amazing place for my family. I have two young children who both attend Carden. My oldest is very outgoing, well-spoken, and confident, all qualities he learned from his teachers at Carden. He has a true passion for education and seeks to gain a deeper understanding of the world around him. Again, these qualities were fostered by the teachers at Carden Arbor View School. Our youngest tends to be more shy and introverted. He would come home from his previous school and refuse to talk about his day. School was challenging and unpleasant for him. After we made the shift to Carden Arbor View, he could not stop talking about his day. He loves school and has grown so much in a short period of time thanks to the support and attention from his teachers. If you are looking for a school that truly values education, seeks to understand your child, and meets them at their level, then I highly recommend Carden Arbor View School. The teachers and staff have created enthusiasm for education in my children and I can't wait to see what they accomplish in the future.

Hello dear parents or guardians I would like to start off saying most of these reviews that are bad, I’ve been in the past but in 2023, 2022 they have gotten way stronger I have gone here before the pandemic and most of these reviews were written in the middle of the pandemic, which I think our school was doing great. During the pandemic we had zoom classes. We stayed on the whole day like a real class, but since it is, it was a pandemic. Everybody was panicking and it was hard on everybody. Now let talk future as a student who has been here way before the pandemic I think they’ve grown from the pandemic they were a great school before and still grade school. They don’t play favoritism and they treat every student as one whole person, and as a group also, they always help to Austin if they need some and they always value the students emotions first and the thing here are you can’t expect all the teachers to be the same so why are parents wanting that don’t you teach your kids IT people are different I must say the old second grade teacher with people have written bad of reviews about she is gone and there’s a new teacher in place which is very kind and nice. She’s very helpful to the students and if you’re looking for a younger elementary, you can look for more things on the website as a middle schooler myself I would say middle school is honestly another level of experience that is amazing. We have advisories that are like your homeroom but you’re like your family carden is a whole big family tree and that’s what I love about it as well middle school has a bunch of activities at build group bonds and for middle school it’s honestly just very prepping for eighth grade and high school also, the after school curriculum classes are big help for the student mind as a student myself, I do take a debate, and I think it’s built strong mind for myself but we have sports too if you read this while you can already tell her schools great so I would love to see you at my school see you or the child

If you are looking to be involved in your child's education this is not the program for you. Most of the teachers will not keep you informed and some flat out refuse to. Just pray your child will advance and hope they will actually get into the next school without being demoted. The school's director abruptly resigned last year. School board members will bully parents, and it is clearly a good old boys club setting. You might consider it a good daycare program, but even good manners are not really a hot topic. Staff appear very nice as long as you don't inquire about and then critique their errors. If you are looking for a real elementary school and one that incorporates parental concerns, you might want to look elsewhere. I agree with other reviews, do your due diligence, but the school's board must go.

Hi all- a word of caution, I’d make sure you take all negative reviews , like the one below, with a grain of salt. ( in Oct 2020 the second grade teacher was and is a young mother with a small child, no grandchildren to speak of) My point? Do your own research by visiting the school, reviewing the curriculum and comparing it to other schools in the area. I came on these sites too, but also remembered that one persons sour grapes is someone else’s bottle of fine wine. My daughter is graduating Carden this year and I am grateful for their leadership and care. She is prepared for high school and we loved this school. Do your resesrch.

This school made me believe that I was lesser than I am. I had amazing grades but the teachers still wouldn’t support me. I felt awful the entire year and they didn’t even bother to care.

We truly saw a difference in our student after attending Carden. Signs of heightened self esteem evident within a few months. Amazed at the effectiveness of the teaching staff. Students are pushed in subjects that they both excel in and struggle in. They are not left to wait on others to move on. Teachers give a student the boost needed to build confidence to overcome new material. It truly is more than a school but a community. Students bond with their classmates making learning more of a joy. Thankful we found a perfect fit for our student. Hoping you find yours.

I am a past student of Carden Arbor View. In fact, I was in the very first graduating class and I was a student when they first opened their doors in Upland. I cannot say what the quality of teachers are like now but in my time they were top notch. I still use my vowel charts in my mind (at age 44!) when trying to explain to my kids why certain words are spelled the way that they are spelled. I was introduced to Latin and French as well as classical music. I can pick out which instruments are being played in a song. I got to do amazing art projects like building my own kite and weaving a basket from reeds. I am a graduate of the University of Houston Clear Lake although now I stay at home with my children. If this school is sticking with the Carden method, I cannot emphasize enough how this stays with a person. If I had remained in California, I would have put my children in a Carden school. However, if they do not have effective teachers then it will be lost. Mostly, I just wanted parents to know that the Carden method works. You will have to evaluate the quality of the current staff.

Carden is not a good school. Academically. The teachers, however, are sub-par -- and that's generous. Our children currently attend another private school. If you need a school that creates a make-believe environment to protect your children from the realities of life, Carden Arbor View in Upland is the place for you. If you want strong, academically-prepared children who will be able to thrive in the real world, Carden Arbor View School is not for you.

This school has done an amazing job in developing my children scholastically, emotionally, and socially. The teachers are concerned and committed, and the staff has the best interest of the students and families in all they do. The headmaster manages with quiet, caring, but ultimately absolute authority. I love this school, as they are developing my children to be intelligent and motivated human beings who will succeed and not just to be test takers.

Our child started Carden as a 6th grader last fall--she loves it and so do we. We wanted a smaller school with great teachers and high moral standards and Carden has outperformed our expectations. Our daughter loved every one of her middle school teachers and learned a lot in every class. Academic standards are traditional and high, and homework is reasonable (limited to 2 hours per weeknight, but usually for her less than an hour). Courses were Grammar (more stuff than I learned in high school), Literature (read Alice in Wonderland, Tom Sawyer, Dog of Flanders and The Odyssey and did different challenging activities with each), Earth and Space Science, Pre-Algebra, Ancient History, and French; also Life Skills, Art, Music, Composition and Computer. There are fun, low-key sports teams in volleyball/football, basketball, archery and track; and student government. The social atmosphere is kind and welcoming (imagine all the 6th grade girls getting along well!) The headmaster is flexible as to what's best for each child, very well-organized, and lives by and teaches the Carden values. We are so glad we found this school.

I speak from first hand experience when I say this is a great school. Carden is an amazing school. From the books we read in literature to the equations we do in math, I love this school. In 8th grade literature we read huckleberry finn, julius ceasar, and many other books. In math we go from 5th grade math to algebra 1. This is truly a great school and it is worth every penny!
