Old outdated everything including the staff. Classrooms are dirty and musty and the education so low budget.

As an Ex student I find that the morals and core academics instilled by this school far outweigh any negatives, I am not a Seventh Day Adventist, however I found it an enjoyable experience to disagree with, and debate with my SDA friends and teachers. It builds character and ideological strength to be comfortable with your ideas and who you are. There are some negatives, for example this school will never have as many resources as a public school, but again UJA teaches core academics on a much superior level.

I would rate this a 10 for all this school has done for me! No matter what anyone else says about it. I might also add that we now have a dress code so you don't have to complain about that anymore. :) The kids at this school are all focused toward Christ and I've also seen that the children at this school help each other out through hard things in life. I would quit all the bad talk about this school because I'm in the schooling system at this school and its not as bad as people might say it is. No one at his school is shoving any religion down anyone's throat, they just give us a time with Jesus, I don't believe that the people of the Seventh Day Adventist church will be the only people Going to heaven in fact I even think that some people that don't even have a religion will be in heaven. I've never heard of any teacher commenting to any student about how their parents look, and if they did what would they say that was so bad, the only thing I've heard come out of our teachers mouths is positive/uplifting things about parents and students. I would highly recommend sending your child to school here because of the teachers and the christian based education.

My daughter excelled at UJA K-2 grade. then after that the SDA faith was slammed down her throat. I know that it is an SDA school, but multiple teachers have said to her that the SDA faith is the only faith that will get her to heaven!! These guys are NUTS! I have searched the whole bible and can not find that teaching. The teachers also stand in judgement of parents and make very rude comments about how they look physically to the student. Very inappropriate!! This has happened from my daughters home room teacher. The only thing beneficial about the school is the music program. it's really good! As far as education its no different from any other school. You just wont be openly condemned by teachers for your personal christian beliefs. So i highly recommend NOT sending your child to this school!

Once you are part of this school, you get to see contrary things behind closed doors. The SDA community is a conservative one as I understand it. However, there are some ways the students are encouraged toward ungodly and worldly behaviors. They are pushed to do broadway musical plays that are worldly and inappropriate for any Christians. One of the plays had the girls wearing heavy make-up, bright fluorescent hair colors, suggestive clothing and drinking scenes among others allowed for the school play. The school dress code and behavior are against all of that. The possibility for wholesome, educational plays are plenty out there to choose from. This is absolutely disappointing and disturbing to have witnessed such hypocrisy in Ukiah Junior Academy. Needless to say, my kids were pulled out!

My school is awesome! We have a wonderful group of students, parents and staff! It is a privilege to be a part of such a terrific school!

It is a great school with an excellent curriculum, great student/teacher ratio, beautiful campus and wonderful, dedicated teachers!

Great school with high scholastic achievement. My second grader (6 years old) is reading at a 5th grade level. My fourth grader (9 years old) is doing 7th grade math. My fourth grader's class has ipads for each student and student to teacher ratios are very reasonable. The environment is strictly non-bully and the school teaches a christ-centered approach to working together as a school body. It takes a village and Ken and his staff are a great village to support your child's education.

This school has had a mixed history for years of both positives and negatives. Academic instruction is good. However, too many of the students have an attitude of superiority. The concept that Seventh-day Adventists have the full truth is taught from a young age, and those with other beliefs are seen as not yet understanding the truth. This can be a very challenging and even uncomfortable environment for students who have differing beliefs. The music program is one of the strongest features of this school. This school may be right for your child and family, but it's not for everyone.

Looks great on the outside, but the religion is taught from a narrow-minded viewpoint and if your child doesn't fit in exactly right, look out. What the staff perceived as "great" kids from "good" families used religion as an excuse to bully mine and there was no effort by the administration to uncover what was really going on. There are much better schools around - I'd pass on this one.
