This is one of the best schools in the world. They are one of 14 Leader in Me Legacy schools that teach students the 7 Habits, as in Franklin Covey's 7 Habits of Highly Effective People, except this is the student version. All three of my children have attended here and have learned to be more responsible for their role in their own education, leadership, and life goals. They were well-prepared for middle school. All the teachers are loving and kind, helping to ensure the students reach the best of their abilities. I would highly recommend this school to anyone looking.

All three of our children went to Jack from kindergarten thru fifth grade. We had a great experience and have fond memories of all the activities and the sweet teachers. They have an active PTA, which works hard to add to the fun, elementary school years. I would highly recommend giving this school a try. I think you’ll be happy that you did.

This school is not longer what it just to be with other administration. Current principal Brett does now address our concerns. As matter of fact he aggravated them. We had many concerns that were brought to him. Just to mention one. They humiliate children when they do not behave as they expect. I witness it. A staff member brought a child to my child's teacher to discipline the child in front of the whole class, 2 times the same day. They Kindergarteners, and they are doing that to them. I told this and many others things to the principal and what they did is that I need to let them know 24 hours before going to school. Before my observations everything was ok, I know I am not welcome in the school, yesterday September 15, I was asked to leave the classroom and the campus. And I was not interfering with anything, they just do not want me to see. Because they want to keep doing the things they know are wrong.

My child was teaching the other kids in class. Enough said.

numbers, kids are just numbers, the amount of pressure and stress they put the kids in preparation for the Staar test. Not to mention the bullying on a daily basis, it is not a no bully zone . The accidents that happen in the playground while teachers "supposed" to be watching and where most of the bullying happen. Not to mention that kids feel that they are in trouble if they mention something. And some of the teachers are just bullies themselves . I am seeing Jack over the years going downhill . The so call Leader in Me program that the school pays a lot of money is not implemented in fact a lot of parents don't even know exactly how this work. When it is implemented and everyone is talking about it every second of the day is when the accreditation is due. Remember the old good days when Mrs. Shauna Hittle was there.

The teachers are amazing. She is open to communication, worked with us on getting my child in the right part of the room so they could see better. Also last year, the administration was willing to go the extra mile. I had an issue I needed to address concerning my child and the principal found time to meet with me the next day. They were more than willing to work with us on what my child needed to succeed. Off to a great year in 2015!

I was disappointed with the first week. This year the administration is really struggling to get a hold on things.

so unorganized! Problem with bullies, both of my kids had bruises and said kids were shoving them on the playground and teachers wouldn't do anything and weren't even watching. Teachers are bullies. One teacher called my son a baby. Principal is really rude and I saw her make a ugly face to a teacher after I walked away then turned and caught her. This whole school with the exception of a few seems like a bunch of bad apples. I don't know why they are getting any good reviews. My kids hate it here and are scared to go back.

Yes, discipline, accountability for your actions and high expectations for all children are the norm at Jack. If you are looking for your run of the mill public school, this is not the school for you. Teachers are hired based on merit, not quotas. I have had two kids go through Jack and one is still there. Great teachers and high expectations sums it up.

I am apparently not as happy with Jack Elem. as most parents. As the parent of an African-American child who attends this school, i have always been very concerned that my child goes to a school who sees mainly whites in positions of authority (principals, teachers, nurse, counselor, librarian, etc.) and blacks as custodians and cafeteria workers. Until this year they only had 1 black teacher but hired another this year so now there are 2. There are no blacks in any other professional posiitions. What message does this send to blackj students at this school? Additionally, I have concerns about their Leader in Me school focus as well as their school-wide behavorial management program. All students were not made to be leaders and have no desire to be. Their callings and desires lie elsewhere. What about those students. Likewise all students do not respond favorably to a color change as a discipline tool and stay on the lower levels of orange and red. Now what? There appears to be no plan in place to help these students just as there appears to be no effective plan in place to help students who struggle academically.

I'm so happy we chose to live in Jack boundaries. My son is becoming well rounded and loves school. They focus on life lessons as well as academic. I couldn't ask for better teachers, bus driver, or staff. Seriously the best all around.

My 5th grader has attended Jack Elementary since kindergarten. The entire time he has attended Jack, we've had an excellent experience. All of his teachers have been extremely carrying and excellent teachers. Both his former principal and his new principal (who was previously assistant principal) have shown the utmost professionalism at this school. You can truly see that they want nothing but the best for their students. We have always felt welcomed and accepted every time we've set foot into Jack Elementary. They are a "Leader in Me" Lighthouse school and they help each child become a leader by teaching and following the 7 Habits of Highly Effective Students. I would highly recommend Dr. Bryan C Jack Elementary School to anyone looking for an outstanding elementary school.

I would give this school NO stars if that was an option. Very low standards, over crowding, and bulleying are paramount here. So unimpressed.

I'm parent and if i had a choice my children wouldn't go to Jack elementary. Some teachers at Jack elementary doesn't feel there teachers duties. They let you know your kids are failing in the middle of the school year. Then they want to fail your child and act like its your fault. And Jack elementary logo is: No child left behind:

We moved to Tyler 18 months ago and we love Jack Elementary. We are so pleased with the teachers and staff we've interacted with. The decision to move into Jack's school zone was a very good one!

School staff is very sensitive to parental concerns and receptive to ideas and involvement to work together toward solutions. We are truly partners in my child's education.
