Whitson is one of the best Elementary schools that Topeka has to offer. It has a Spanish dual-language program that your students can participate in starting from Kindergarten through 5th grade. The leadership from the Principal fosters a great culture of kindness, respect, and a sense of excellence and family within the school from her staff to the teachers and then to the children. Our children love being a part of this school family and it has impacted their lives for the better. I appreciate the fact they practice the philosophy of the Whitson Warrior Way which emphasize on Compassion, Responsibility, Respect, and Self-Awareness. The school's learning disposition is P.R.I.C.E. less:P - PerseveranceR - ReflectionI - InnovationC - CuriosityE - Embrace ChallengesThe Principal, her staff and educators has many accolades and awards that has been bestowed upon them from Topeka Public Schools Board of Education are as follows:Kansas School Counselor Of The Year Honor, Distinguished Staff Award for First-Year Teacher, Topeka Public Schools Distinguished Certified Teacher award, and last but not least Distinguished Staff Award for Building Leader (Principal).We'll forever be grateful and miss being a part of the Whitson family. We love Whitson. We have two kids attending since kindergarten and we have had an amazing experience with the entire faculty and staff. These educators love what they do and the kids.

Amazing teachers, they go above and beyond for the children. The staff is amazing. The principal loves each and every student. Family oriented. Community is amazing.

Whitson is an amazing place to go to school! I am so grateful to Principal Keelin Pierce, the teachers, the paras, the counselors, and all the school staff for investing in my son's future. They genuinely care for each and every student and put systems in place to ensure every child succeeds. The mental health and social-emotional supports for students are outstanding! We could not be happier.

Had two kids go start to finish. Watched the kindergarten teacher by far my favorite teacher with her way up to principle. She has has two small ones herself and just ask around really seems to care about children. My youngest has a couple more years and hell finish them there. Go Whitson...

Whitson is a great school! Don't believe the subjective ratings that GreatSchools give it. In my opinion it is the best Topeka Public school. It also has the dual-language program which my children are benefitting from. I have been a parent of a Whitson student since 2004 and I highly recommend it!

My child goes to Whitson and we've been impressed with the teachers, the administration, and how everyone goes out of their way to ensure a child's success. Our child has some developmental delays due to medical issues, and they quickly identified that and developed an IEP specifically to address that and help us be successful. Additionally, we are part of the dual language program and we find it incredibly impressive.

Whitson is an excellent public school. Principal, administration, and teachers are very committed to excellence and challenging students. We transferred into Whitson and feel very blessed that we had this option. The school seems like a large family, everyone is open and very diverse. The PTO and school work very well together, working for best solution for school and students. There are lots of activities for kids to get involved in such as Spelling Bee, Math Bee, Geography Bee, Dance Club, and Running Club just to name a few. My daughter says this is the best school she has attended and she has been in a catholic school as well as another 501 School. Whitson Rocks! I'm sorry she will be moving on to middle school, but I can hope we have the same type of experience! More schools should be modeled after Whitson, and all parents should be involved in their child s education.
