I graduated this school five years ago and it helped prepare me extremely well for college. A lot of my friends from this school went to Notre Dame, Michigan, Miami, Northwestern, and UChicago. There are a lot of reviews that say this school is terrible don't send your kid here, but I challenge the people who wrote those reviews to post their grades and attendance records to see if they're just mad that they didn't take high school more seriously or if there is genuine need for improvement. Personally, I thought that the AP and honors classes at this school challenged me a lot and prepared me well for college where I graduated in 3 1/2 years due to AP credits. There is always room for improvement, with Tinley being no exception, but personally I wouldn't change where I went because I received the right amount of attention, academic, and athletic opportunities.Parents if you are thinking about sending your child here, do your research based off the schools curriculum, open houses, and community events. Don't listen to nameless trolls online who might just be clueless that they or their kids didn't take things seriously in high school.

Love this small school. Diverse and close knit student body. Great programs for high achieving students.

The school itself does not care, they would rather expel than have to do their jobs. No scheduled counseling for students on a regular basis if at all, Quick to expel for non-violent issues. No student identification system in place. If your child is going to attend this High School he better be perfect It is easier for these Dean's to write your child off than to try to intervene through counseling or other means open to them Very punitive atmosphere.

School is diverse and offers several AP and dual credit courses. They also offer SAT prep classes and distinguished scholar diplomas. My child loves this school and has received multiple offers from colleges and universities. They use 1-1 technology and offer technology and other elective courses for today's learners.

I graduated here in 2018, during my last year here it felt more like a middle school than a high school. They hardly give students options when it comes to anything and they do very little to prepare for the future. My counselor didn't even see me once senior year. Dean Pod is truly holding back this schools potential with these unnecessary rules and I remember her not shaking anyone's hand at graduation which is just sad. I must say that this school does a decent job with bullying but one more thing that irks me is the male gym teachers creeping on girls and just being plain rude to everyone who isn't in sports.

I went to TPHS from 1993-1997. I am satisfied in general with the education I received there however looking back, I wish I had been challenged more. I did like the lower head count and teacher to student ratio.

I went to TPHS from 95-99. What I can say is that I received a good enough education to get into a near ivy league school, and because I was able to play sports at Tinley, I was able to get some financial aid to go to said school and play for another 4 years. One thing that Tinley has going for it is a lower student count and a good student to teacher ratio. Im not sure why someone on here would care how the team has performed at their last few home comings, but Tinley has had MANY successful sport teams in most of their provided sports. I think students at tinley have the ability to shine and are more likely to be noticed! That is hard to find at alot other area schools.

My child received an excellent education from this school and the district as a whole. He also got accepted into a fantastic collage.

Move out of the district if you have to so you can avoid this miserable high school. Horrible curriculum.

Poor school. Complete lack of a challenging curriculum. Poor educational techniques. Only come here if you want a sub-standard quality education for your kid and want them to pass. They can work in Mcdonalds for the rest of their life!
