This school is Excellent. The teachers are amazing!

Maple's teaching methods are from a different century. Some teachers are old and cranky, they should be retired. Classes are crowded, kids can get unruly and teachers do not do anything to stop the problem kids. The staff is grumpy, especially the front office lady.

I have two children in Maple. They love it and the close-knit community there. With experience at a number of other elementary schools, I finally feel that our family has found a community of teachers and administration, and seek to build a partnership with parents. It is important for me to know (from their teachers) when they are doing well and where they excel - not just get an email when someone has a bad day. I've seen the development in my children as it pertains to the school's high expectation of behavior and positive feedback when they speak up regarding bullying.

Dr. Santos is an amazing, energetic principal. He leads a group of professional, caring educators. My 2nd child currently attends and the school is great at identifying and challenging high end learners. They were also amazing at meeting the needs of my older child who struggles with dyslexia. The LEAD program is phenomenal!

Our second of two daughters just graduated from Maple and we cannot speak highly enough of the Maple Experience. It is such a great neighborly, family feel. With just two classes for each grade, every student is able to get the individual attention they deserve to succeed, not just for their classroom, but for their entire grade. As our first daughter is now well into Sequoia, it s clear that Maple prepared her well for Middle and High School. The same seems true for the rest of the Maple alumni whom we ve seen proceed through Sequoia as well. Two years ago, Maple received the biggest boost of energy and support when they hired Dr. Santos as principal. He s brought incredible energy to the school promoting every child to do their best in and out of the classroom. He brings so much fun and has emphasized higher learning standards across all students in all grade levels. While we will miss the teachers and Dr. Santos, we look forward to progressing with the small community of parents we have created relationships with just as our daughters have created lasting, confident relationships with their peers.

Maple is a hidden gem. The class size is great. The teachers are extremely well trained and try their best to individualized their approach to the needs of the student. ALL STUDENTS. They don't just focus on one population but work with all the children as individuals. This approached has worked well for my child who in general education, is very bright, tests well but was having severe difficulties at our neighborhood school (due to Aspergers and sensory issues). Upon choicing my kid to Maple, I found a knowledgeable and supportive team whose mantra for the kids to "be your best" is taken to heart. Mr. Santos is wonderful with the kids and is truly involved. Maple could use more funding to bring in more culturally enriched programs like drama, trips to the civic arts center and yoga. But their Art Masters program is really good. And this year my child is enjoying music class. Maple doesn't teach to the test but teaches to the students need. Though test scores and standards are important, they want to make sure each child leaves knowing how to read, write and do math. And they wants students to have a good foundation and be able to think and problem solve.

Absolutely love Maple Elementary! The teachers are caring and enthusiastic, the principal is very involved and knows all her students, the PFA energetically fundraises and provides a myriad of additional programs, and parent involvement, being very encouraged, is extremely high. One of the many special things about Maple is the annual jog-a-thon, where ALL the money the kids raise goes to charity. I feel blessed that my girls attend such a school that not only excels at educating, but also works toward developing good moral fiber!

In 2008 I used the school choice program to get my oldest son into this school when he was in second grade. My youngest son has been there since kindergarten. Maple is an excellent school that has involved parents, dedicated teachers, an effective PFA, a caring office staff, and a knowledgable principal. My sons have special needs and Maple was an a great fit for them. The students at Maple are compassionate and accepting. The teachers are willing to make accommodations for students' different learning needs. This is an exceptional school.
