Our experience at Madrona has been nothing short of excellent! My husband and I grew up in competitive private schools and feel that our daughter is getting a superior education at Madrona. She is excelling in academics and is inspired to continue learning at home. She has a community of friends who are our neighbors and feels like she is apart of something.

We love Madrona! My kids are in K and 2nd and have had amazing teachers every year! The principal is great and is focused on adding amazing programs and facilities to our campus. We just revamped our science lab and have a dedicated science teacher. We have a new dance studio and the kids LOVE their dance classes! Our art teacher is amazing and teaches things I didn’t learn until college. I love the inclusion of families from different backgrounds into our community. I also love that my kids get to engage with students with different abilities. Madrona is such a magical school community!

I school choices my child here and I have been delighted with my experience. It is a diverse and unique campus with great special education programs, a science lab, a new dance studio with dance specialists, and a wonderful art program! I’ve been through two principals, and each one has brought a special experiences to our campus that will last through the years. My children stay at the after school programs too, and beg me to not pick them up early.I definitely recommend Madrona Elementary.

We have been at Madrona since 2017. My daughter graduated 5th grade and both my boys still attend. We love attending the neighborhood school! My kids all have neighborhood friends and can walk to and from school! Talk about a great childhood experience! The school itself has becomemore diverse over the years and I am proud of that too. In the city of Thousand Oaks, we live in somewhat of a "bubble". I think it's important for the community to know that we are not all the same in language, looks and financial means. We have excellent teachers, administrators and specialists. Our school has excellent programs in science, art and even dance. We love Madrona!

This is our neighborhood school and 2 of my children have been going for at least two years We love our school. The classroom size is small so children get lots of attention. There’s specialists for kids needing more help. The teachers have all been great, the staff have been there for so long and care about the kids, the two principals that have been there during our time have been great, and the PTA is wonderful. This is a diverse school that wants to include all learners while encouraging children to embrace their differences in a positive way.

some teaches are not doing their job to keep students involved.

Excellent. I was corcerned about the low income atudent ratio and esl impact on scores. None the less, my child is flourishing and has had a strong academic experience. Her language, reading, and social skills have all flourished..I have to regrets.

This school must either close down for good or shape up and stop encourage bullies to ruin the future of bullied children. I will be taking my children out of this school as soon as the school year is over. I don't want my children to be in such a dangerous environment where they can't learn anything positive.

I absolutely love Madrona. The teachers and staff truly care about the students. My daughter has gone to TK and Kindergarten here. The are so many opportunities for your child to explore different programs such as STEM, Music, Computers programing, library, Makerspace, Science lab, and Art. The parents truly care about helping out and making the school the best it can possibly be. It has a beautiful campus as well with large grass field and view of the mountains.

We chose which home to purchase when we relocated to the area based on the wonderful reviews of this school. We were very disappointed for two reasons. 1) The teacher to student ratio for grades 4 and 5 is 35:1. The lower grades has a better ratio of 25:1. With those ratios, and one teacher in the classroom, students fall through the cracks. 2) The second reason is the moral fiber of the school is low. Things go missing out of desks and backpacks and there is no interest in addressing the problem. The reply is "get better at protecting your stuff". Bullying on the playground is also very prevalent. The yard duty does try to help, but lots of bullying goes unnoticed. The reason they got the Distinguished School award is because a nearby school was closed and the students were integrated into this school. The test scores were very low the first year of integration. To the school's credit, they managed to enable the integrated student's success and the test scores got back to normal. The drastic improvement in standardized test scores is why they got the award.

We love this place! Our son is starting the 1st grade this year, and we have found the teachers, staff, and principal to be very involved, very caring, and very knowledgable about our child as an individual. Our son was there for Kindergarten in an integrated class with typical kids and special needs kids. Amazing teachers, amazing children (with and without special needs), amazing aids. This school is teaching kids more than just academics...they are teaching tolerance and understanding, and they are building character. We could not be more proud to say our son attends this school.

As a grandparent of ne of the students in your care, I just wanted to say "thanks" for caring so much about your precious little ones. It must be quite a challenge today to serve all the needs of parents and students, but I wanted you to know we noticed! You are awesome: teachers, adminstrators, office staff, after school care. We really appreciate your hard work. It has not gone unnoticed! F.O.R. 1
