My 2 boys have been attending this school for the past year and a half. One is in the Dual Language Immersion program, and the other, unfortunately, just missed out on the program. The fact that my son will be bilingual by the 5th grade is life changing for him. For the other kids that have not been able to attend the DLI program, like my other son, they at least get an introduction to languages (Spanish), with a weekly Spanish class. The total size of the school is pretty small, giving it a family-like feeling. The school principal knows the name of every single student, and is extremely active and helpful with the PFA/PTA. There are monthly family activities that encourage the children to live by the “Seven Habits of Happy Kids”. This is a part of their leadership program. By the first grade, each student takes turns public speaking at assembly, encouraging them and building their self esteem from an early age. I love this school and all of its diversity. I have only seen it improving rapidly over the year and a half that we have been here.

Conejo is an amazing school! Not only is my daughter part of a Dual Language Program but she is making lifelong friendships and the school community is exceptional. The PTA is always planning fun events and the principal genuinely makes going to school fun.

All of my kids have have been here since TK/K and we have had an excellent experience. The teachers go above and beyond to meet the needs of every student, providing challenging work for those at the top of their class and additional support for students who are struggling. The leadership program here is very well done, and students get many opportunities to practice public speaking and to take on leadership roles in various ways around campus. They also have an excellent life skills program which allows every grade to learn a “non academic” skill, my kindergartener learned how to ride a bike in PE class and my 3rd grader learned financial literacy and got to open a savings account at a bank. In addition to the Spanish dual immersion program, students learn about different countries and traditions throughout the year. Highly recommend this program to any family who wants their kids to be bilingual.

My biggest concern with Conejo Elementary is the lack of organization within the school . Either the principal is not up to the standards required to run an efficient, organized program or she just simply doesn’t care. This school is ran by the worst of the worst and is one of the lowest scoring schools in the Conejo area.

Horrible school. Staff and students are extremely rude and disrespectful. The kids here are violent and have no regard for each other. My child was threatend with a homemade sharpened piece of plastic and asked if he wants to see blood. Steer far away from this school.

Kids here are super unmotivated and fall way below state average. It is heartbreaking to see your child go from loving school to not wanting to go. The principal has no plans to increasing these ratings.

Great school. The teachers really cared about student progress. Nice the school is so close to Thousand Oaks Performing Arts Center so students can participate there too.

Our school is student centered, community driven. We feel our children are gaining important leadership skills as well as being taught through hands on learning how to navigate through their day making choices that are safe and kind for them and those around them.

I recently moved to the area. I enrolled my child in the open leadership program. The teachers are great and show enthusiasm to work with the children. However the Principal in my opinion does not. My priority is that my child is on par with the students his grade on a national level. I do whatever I can to make sure he gets and remains there. My first point of contact- the principal- she sent me on a wild goose chase with irrelevant information so I stopped asking and went to the parents who were more knowledgeable and are a great source for information.

The open classroom part of this school is very good and allow the children to be who they are.
