Don't send your child here...they are paper pushers not a lot of teaching going on...your child will be begging you not to go to school in elementary school...which is so sad ...bullying is tolerated and over looked....with no punishment...ohhhh but let any child defend themselves from that bullying and they will get into trouble ...they are allowed 2 field trips a years their lucky to take one...any fall , spring festival or after school activities cost for the students...this is the most money hungry school I've ever seen but none of it goes back to the students...it goes for teacher's catered lunches, or coffee bars, dessert bars and so on... multiple times a year....school is supposed to be about the students not the staff and teacher's...espy when those teachers are basically just pushing papers and sitting at their desk...no motivation or emotional support...they are not helpful...don't send your child here unless you want them bored, miserable, bullied and crying daily....

FAMILIES BEWARE!! My daughter attended this school throughout elementary. She had a phenomenal 2nd grade teacher who has since retired. All the teachers at the school have years of experience and a few are great, however there is a disconnect with the families and students they serve. I was recently appalled by some of the things my daughter shared about teacher behaviors in the classroom, though not surprised by the unprofessional and careless treatment of students. (My daughter is now an A honor student at her middle school. She is well-spoken, and her teachers speak highly of her, much different than some of her experience while at Pilot). My son has several learning challenges. He is a bright student, but he needs additional support to focus and extra time to think and finish his assignments and tests. I had to go to the school repeatedly to talk with teachers and the principal about concerns that were never appropriately addressed. I tried to move schools but the superintendent told me the school board has never approved student moves, for any reason. I have since moved my child to another district where I teach. His new school is great, support for students and families is excellent, and teachers are warm and inviting to students and families. Sadly, my child misses attending school close to home, but we feel he is at greater academic and social risk at this school and in this district. Families should not be afraid to send their children to school. My child suffered physical injury, bullying (for which he was blamed), and was socially and emotionally traumatized. The school board has passed a local law that blocks student and parent choice, which legalizes discrimination and overlooks negligent teaching and administrative practices.Families have options to homeschool, or apply for vouchers for private school. If you are able to homeschool your child, consider doing so if this is your assigned school. I would be willing to tutor and support families for free to prevent the kind of issues we encountered. If you are considering buying a home in this school district, shop elsewhere! There are much better schools in much better areas of the county!

thankfully this is my son's first and only year at this school. he is a fifth grader and though he loves his teachers but on the parental side it is AWFUL!i can write a story, but i will keep it short and sweet as this school has me too appalled. they do nothing about bullying, they completely suck at communication, and they are so disorganized its unfathomable.
