I'm very disappointed with my experience at Fairgrove. I know Fairgrove had an outstanding reputation a while back I'm not sure what has happened over the years but their standards are not the same one of the main reasons I did not move away from Thomasville is because I was looking forward to my child attending Davidson County Schools I am not satisfied at all with Fairgrove Elementary.

Terrible. My child's current teacher is very lazy. Since first grade, my child has never had a constant teacher. It's like Fair Grove has a revolving door of teachers coming and going - but this also makes me weary of current leadership/administration efforts at this school. High turnover rates at any place should always make one question leadership efforts and morale. Bullying is bad with one child in my kid's classroom and nothing is done about the behavior anymore. It's easier to punish the children being bullied than it is to punish the one doing the bullying. Teachers pass students who need extra help on assignments; because I guess passing them is easier than working with them on something they do not understand. Be very cautious of this and pay serious attention to all graded assignments that come home with your child (especially the good grades). Administration is no better here, they say they will be in touch and never return calls and if they do, it's a few weeks later IF you're lucky. My child will not be attending Fair Grove next year; we have decided that if we want the best education for our child then we will have to pay for it at a private school. I wish I had all the money in the world to pay for each child who attends Fair Grove to go to a private school, because children deserve a better chance at education - which they won't receive at Fair Grove. Children are being taught way too advanced subjects for their grade levels and are expected to keep up, so when you have a lazy teacher, it's enough to tip the scales and your child is the one who suffers.

School makes learning for students fun. Very engaging. Our daughter actually completes her homework with pleasure unlike in her former school she attended last year. Great Teachers!

Each grade level offers teachers that are fabulous and go above and beyond. The problem is that those classrooms are typically filled up with the teachers' children and other lucky people who are able to request them. Each grade level also has teachers who need to retire or are very outdated in their teaching methods. The school needs a major overhaul physically and the maintanence staff could do a much better job at keeping the school clean. The cafeteria floor was sticky all year long. The PTO is a joke. You sign up at the beginning of the year and no one calls you. If you get the good teachers and find a way to get involved, this is a great school. If you get the other teachers who don't communicate and hand out worksheets everyday, you may have to work with your child at home to supplement.
