The person who dumps garbage into your mind will do you considerably more harm than the person who dumps garbage on your floor, because each load of mind garbage negatively impacts your possibilities and lowers your expectations.

This school is a complete disgrace. Children as young as six years old walk to and from the school because their parents apparently can't be bothered to walk them there. Parents are not involved AT ALL and, perhaps as a result, the staff is generally jaded and unwilling to do anything but the bare minimum. At dismissal time, my son's teacher leaves before the kids in her class have been picked up and no one is there to supervise them, which is beyond unsafe. The environment is toxic. In terms of academics, kjids aren't being given positive reinforcement and there seems to be little focus on academics. My son's teacher even admitted that she had "no time" to check each kid's homework when that is precisely what her job requires!! It's a miracle this school is still open! It breaks my heart that the public school system is so horrid in New York City. This is our zoned school and I hate it enough to want to move!

I was a student in this school from 2000 until 2008 , i came to this school in the first grade. The teachers are very nice and the dean and principle as well. when i graduated in 2007 , i noticed as a freshman in high school how much they care about us. They put a lot of pressure on us, but only to prepare us. The only thing i would change is the grades. They should create a separate level for the middle school because when we move from the library to the art room the little kids get terrorized so easily . i loved the experience here and now i am a student a Fordahm University in the bronx.

My son and daughter are in ps37 since 2008. We love the school and teachers. Everybody says hello to me smiling and makes me feel like home. My son s teacher calls me sometimes to say my son had a bad day or a good day. There are a lot of workshops for parents. I wish I could go to them but I have to work. There is early morning school for my son for extra help and it is good for me because I am a working mom and there is no one to take my child to school after 8 in the morning. There is a free after school here to. If I could change one thing is sometimes the office staff acts lazy or not interested in doing their jobs when you come for a letter or to see someone and they act like they don t see you but not all of them. And when I wanted to speak to an assistant principal she was rude to me when there was a situation with my daughter in the first grade. I solved the problem with the principal who understands. I still recommend this school because my child loves his teachers and I like the way my son and daughter are learning.
