I attended this school from kindergarten to fourth grade a few years back, I am now entering senior year in high school. While my anecdote may be considered outdated or unhelpful since it was this long ago, I still want to make my experience known, as I did not have the chance to voice any of these experiences as a child. The school offered absolutely no support for me as a neurodivergent child, and incidents with bullying were happening on a daily basis which were never properly addressed at all. I was undergoing constant harassment from peers which was never addressed and was constantly swept under the rug. On top of that, I was targeted and reprimanded constantly by teachers for “behavioral issues” that were either non-issues that stemmed from autism and adhd symptoms (fidgeting, stimming, misunderstanding instructions because of auditory processing issues), or were genuine incidents of me acting out in response to the bullying and harassment. Instead of trying to work with me and my mother as a child to address my issues, it would instead be sidelined in favor of simply being labeled as a “bad child” and treated like that as a result. While this is due to a combination of both elementary school experiences and home experiences, the extent of the neglect that I went through in this school was bad enough that it has resulted in me being medically diagnosed with complex trauma disorders stemming partly from my experiences here. On top of that, the curriculum was very clearly not catered to certain types of children, and I suffered academically as a result by being chronically behind in core subjects such as math, which was made evident by the disparity between the scope of my knowledge and the scope of the knowledge of other kids at the school i had transferred to for fifth grade. While I cannot confirm or deny if the school has truly gotten better, I feel it is important to know the history that this school has when it comes to these issues.

I think that Ps.360 is a very good school for ours children! I have a good experience with the teachers, parents coordinator and with the Principal, because when I need information, they’re available to help, and, also they help my daughters make progress. I believe we can help the school to be an extraordinary school; finally, they have excellent programs like English class for parents and a excellent after school programs.Rw

I started working at this school this year and I am so impressed with the levels of excitement students have about learning. The teachers work hard to ensure that students needed to excel. The new principal has put some great structures in place to ensure that teachers have time to plan and review data in order to better support individual students. I am happy working here - the best part is having students share their learning and seeing their faces when they improve on their goals.

The I.A. Principal Iris Aldea-Pollack does not know what she is doing. We have had students bring in drugs and hoookah to the school. [One student was actually charging friends for each puff of hookah]. The most recent incident occurred a couple weeks ago, where a group of 3rd grade students ended up in the hospital because students got their hands on over the counter drugs in school and students were telling each other to close their eyes and open their mouths. There is no discipline code in the school and the students are out of control. Fights are constantly breaking out and the school is going down in flames. When you try to confront the I.A. Principal about anything she runs to her office, closes the door and has her secretary and other staff members deal with angry parents. A total of 9 school teachers have quit due to lack of support and all staff members have had a difficult time due to lack of leadership skills. Something must be done or this school will end up closing.

Beware of ps 360!! This school is beyond horrible. My son started attending kindergarten in the fall of 2014 he was only 4. Second week of school was our first incident. My son dropped his spoon at breakfast and went to get a new one but instead was yelled at and told to eat his yogurt with his fingers. I went straight to the school and the incident was swept under the rug. Second incident took place October of 2014 when my son was being bullied by a second grader on the school bus. I made a complaint to the school which I was told well it's not happening in school nothing we can do. I couldn't even address the issue with the child's parent because the child wasn't being picked up by a parent. I asked the school to please set up a meeting with the parent and children I was told no that they don't have meetings with parents. I even asked the bus driver to have my son sit behind her. Of course my son wasn't getting bullied on the bus anymore. But found access in school. Still nothing was done. I had enough and finally got a hold of the parent on my own. I'm telling you avoid this school at all cost. Not a safe environment.

Having worked at PS 360 for over ten years as a teacher I can truly say that the teachers are all hard working, dedicated, and caring. Unfortunately, that is the best I can say about the school. The previous principal lacked tact, courtesy, and professional vocabulary when addressing staff, parents, and students. The school is run like a fortress where parents and visitors are made to feel intrusive and unwelcome. The current principal is clueless in manners of curriculum and child development since she was never a classroom teacher, was trained at the "principals academy" spearheaded by the Bloomberg administration, and came from a corporate background. The current principal's drive for ambition trumps all manner of cohesion among staff and parents. The morale in the school is extremely low and because of that teachers try to remain "under the radar" so as not to arouse any negative attention. When there is aggression and violence among students the principal blames teachers and does not offer the support needed. If it weren't for the administration of PS 360 the school climate would improve, teachers would feel welcome and happy to be there, and creativity would flow.

This school is horrrible . The administration is lacking in all aspects. The principal is unprofessional and rude. The office personnel is biased and nasty. A call to the school is recieved with questioning like a gestapo. Children are belittled and intimidatedand labeled. Serious situations that occur are swept under the rug and not addressed properly. Atrocious.

Having attended this school a few years ago, I don't know how it is now, but while I was there it was a decent institution. The teachers were committed to educating the children, and I personally excelled in the environment. On the other hand, there was an instance when a student stole money from a teacher...

First of all the Principle is aweful she is completely unprofessional and has almost no knowledge about what happens in her school. Its no wonder the school has a 2 out of 10 score in the dept of education. The only chance your kid has of doing well in the school is if they have Ms. Langan. She was a phenomenal teacher and moves btwn 1-2 grades as her kids go up in grade. My child was fortunate enough to have her but now we're back a square one in the 3rd grade. If you have a different school in your zone you may be better off choosing that one before P.S. 360. There is an immense lack of communication in the school.

I could say that my daughter attends this school and so far she is in 1st grade has done a fantastic improvement in reading and math. She had a wonderful teacher on kindergarden which was Ms. Jimenez and now she has Mrs. Glickert that is a fantastic teacher. I would recommend this school they only thing I would encourage is more programs like drama class, reading poems, role playing, and etc

The principle has no respect for parents and the teachers try to work with the parents but not enough.. Other country kids get more help which to me its rediculous

There is a big disconnect between the administration and the parents and unfortunately, it seems that is how the principal prefers it. No concept whatsoever about customer service to the parents, especially by the parent coordinator. I think the teachers do a good job but sadly their good work is overshadowed by the administration lack of response to the parents.
