The principal, teachers and staff are so caring for the kids. They provide great resources. They had a after school reading program and it helped my son tremendously. I’m so appreciative.

I went to this school as a child and now my children attend this school. The office staff is not rude I asked (lol) it was one lady that no power works there. This school cares and the test scores show!

Three of my children have attended this school. All of them had great teachers. In fact, two of my children have scored Exceeded Standard in both math and language arts on the SBAC exam. I expect no less from my youngest when she takes the exam next year. I credit the teachers for teaching the new Common Core State Standards so well during the first full year of implementation and truly understanding these rigorous standards. I would like to thank the following teachers for their dedication and service to my children: Mrs. Ryan, Mrs. Marney, Mr. Toledo, Mrs. Villanueva, Ms. Sela, Ms. McElroy, Mrs. Morreale, Ms. Zubiate, Mr. Postle and Mrs. Fregoso. They have all helped prepare my children to compete in the 21st century, master state standards and develop outstanding critical thinking skills. I would also like to thank the principal for raising the bar and encouraging Dyer to become a California Distinguished School, providing a safe learning environment, and being sensitive to the needs of all students. I highly recommend this school.

Very upset and disappointed in this school! My experience with trying to enroll my son into this school was horrible. Went into the main office to ask about enrolling my him and the staff was extremely rude and unprofessional. I only asked about the enrollment date and they looked at me as if I was stupid. As I'm standing at the front desk not one staff member stood up to assist me. All of them stayed seated behind the computer and spoke to me from there. Gave me no information only got from them was that "maybe after spring break we will have dates" I will be enrolling my son somewhere else he deserves a elemantart school where he will enjoy it and be a happy kid

My son is being bullied as well. He's been punched on his stomach, spit on the face kicked on his privates and been watched while going #2 by the same little boy! I've gone to the principal and all she does is just write it down and say she will look into it. It almost seems like she doesn't care. Bullying is a serious problem!! My son started peeing his pants and has told me he doesn't want to go to school cuz of that boy. I've gone to the teacher several times but it's the same thing! It's almost as she's bored when I talk to her...l always tell my boy to not hit back and to just go tell his teacher but she doesn't believe him and has put him on the spot asking the whole class if she should believe him!!! Like she's tired of my son going to her because of what this kids doing to him!! She's the adult! Who else is he going to go to?!Im so disappointed with this school. Im sure there might be a couple teachers who actually like their job and motivate kids. But so far I haven't seen none... The only nice person I've seen there is the door lady at the exit after school. I'm looking for a new one school although I live 3 minutes away...

Very un attended. There is one or two main people watching these hundreds of children and the supervision is not good! How is it possible a class bully punched my child in the face without anyone seeing. And afterwards no type of discipline was given to the bully because no one saw anything! And when i call to ask if my child was in the correct classroom a woman named Estella always answers and is very rude and incosiderate. I will be taking my child ouy of this school after the 2014 semester.

School teachers are pretty good. School site is clean, parents do get involved in their children's academic progress. School test scores have improved. After school programs are really good for parents and students that take advantage of them. Back to school nights are bi-lingual spanish & english. Parents do need to do better in their children's academic studies. Thank you.

My son is currently attending Dyer. My overall feeling about this school is that it is definitely a work in progress. My opinions are solely based off of my personal interactions with the teachers, staff and principal. The majority of Teachers are great! Obviously and unfortunatly not all teachers there are. It's a shame on how the principal handles anyone that has had or is having problems with them. This is where I feel the principal has failed. The office staff can be unprofessional and rude with parents at times.

Dyer St. Elementary School has been improving for the last couple of years. It acquired the California Distinguished School tittle recently. Dyer school counts with a big parent- volunteer system and also in the Parent Center they have many classes and projects to help the parents and students. Although this school have many positive things there are many other things that need to be improved, sometimes people working in the office is not "very nice", Saying that, I have to admit that every time I have had a complaint or a suggestion they always listen and in my personal experience the school principal has always taken my concerns seriously.

My 3 children have been going to this school for the past 6 years. I have noticed the continual improvement in the test scores and quality of education. The principal is very involved and has always made herself available to address individual issues. I will be very honest and say that the quality of teachers at times can be hit or miss. That being said, our assigned teachers have been almost always excellent and a few even exceptional. This school rewards and celebrates children for academic excellence. Their rewards program has encouraged my children to do well in their studies and invites healthy competition. Overall, I feel my children are receiving a great education at Dyer Elementary and will be prepared to move on to middle school with very good test scores achieved.

Unprofessional staff and teachers, and certaintly not very impressed overall. If you want your child to learn and advance academically, this school is NOT for you. The teachers favor spanish speakers and teach and explain the lessons in spanish, while the non spanish students twiddle their thumbs and wait. Please hear me out, it is a waste of your time and your child's time if you do not speak spanish. It the same at teacher's meetings, open house, etc... The meeting starts at 5 pm - 6 pm, the teachers discuss in spanish for the first 45 minutes and leaves only the last 15 minutes to speak English (that's 45 minutes wasted for a busy parent).

Outstanding teachers ,and staff . I found the principle to be very professional actually, she was straight forward and honest and told my child exactly what he needed to hear to get himself into gear. (She told him to clean up his act academically because he has a lot of potential, she made him realize that a mind is a terrible thing to waste) The office workers were kind and professional despite being busy and overall I think it's one of the best elementary schools in the area.

I'm not very empressed by the school. The principle makes up her own rules and enforces them without alerting the parents and students of policy changes. Total lack of communication. In addition, parents are not invited to Trophy ceremonies if the "principle feels that too many parents will come". The parents work just as hard pushing, and motivating the students at home, and should be invited. Last I knew- an overwelming attendance of parents was a good sign.. Changes that need to be made: Better communication with parents/students. Invite parents to ALL award ceremonies- our children look for us to support them!

Teachers are excellent, however, class size is too big, about 28 students! I understand the school budget, however, smaller size class are always better as teachers have more time to focus in each of the students individual needs. The principal have not impress me. Parents do need to be more involved. Thank you.

Great team here now that the administrator made sure to lose the Instructional coach who had been there for about 4 years. SHe was rude, thought she knew it all and rarely allowed the other instructional coaches to grow-as she felt she was the powerful one. I am glad the teachers and adminsitrators finally moved her out and since the school ahs really been able to move! Great team at Dyer no backstabbing any longer

Office staff are rude & unprofessional. Every time I go in there, I feel like I'm bothering them and I feel very uncomfortable. The principle is also very unapproachable & rude. Since the school year is over, I'm trying to get my son out of this school ASAP. The only reason why I've kept my child as long as a I have (1.5 years) is because the teachers are awesome. My child and I have had wonderful experiences with Mrs. O & Mrs. Jensen. They truly care for their students and want only the best for them. I appreciate everything they've done for my child. The only reason I've given this school two stars is because of the teachers. The district really needs to train the administrative office on customer service skills and need to replace the principle.
