Overall, we've had a great experience at this school. Teachers are helpful for the most part. There are several teachers, particularly in the sciences, that prefer kids look up information on their own (facilitator vs teacher). Not a fan of that. Outside of science, we've had good interactions with the teachers. I think some families expect teachers to just "know" that their child needs help; I have found that if you ask for help or point out something your kid is struggling with, they are happy to help. My only real complaint about this school is that they don't take discipline very seriously. No need for the school to be harsh, but the level of expectation in regards to behavior is lax.

All three of my children had great experiences both inside and outside the classroom.All three successful in life due to the teachers and coaches they had at SHS. Highly recommend.

This school sucks. 90% of the teachers act like toddlers. The staff is snooty and rude. They pay no attention about the male students assaulting the female students. The school only cares about the students who are academically inclined. The school building it’s self is gross and dirty. The building smells like dust and mildew. Most of the extra money goes to the football team and there equipment ( even though the team is not good at all lol). The school boasts about how they are such a good school and the students are lucky to be there but in reality the school is terrible.

Fantastic experience. The people I interact with including teachers and peers are stong character-wise and are intelligent. Not all students fit this category of course, but this does not appear to a product of the school's administration. Don't listen to that foolish parental review. Perhaps I am harsh when I say this, but the only reason why that parent's child presumably ended up in community college, not that there is anything wrong with that, is probably because community college was the best place for them. As a student, I know for a fact that opportunities are more than oppulent at Sycamore High School for a student to succeed, and I and many others have utilized them without impediments.

We have been very disappointed in the Sycamore School District for the past 7 years. If you are okay with your child heading off to community college, not that anything is wrong with that, then Sycamore is the place for you. This district has a very passive philosophy and likes to say they are much better than the districts around them. They charge for EVERYTHING and still pay the teachers very little. So many other districts in the area I feel are better options.
