My children told me about some cases of bullying and theft happening on campus, but we've never received any response or notice from the school. I'm very disappointed in the Christian school.

We had high hopes for this school. Unfortunately it is anything but a kind Christian values based environment. Some teachers are good, but others are destructive to the kid’s mental health. There was one teacher who said they enjoyed torturing the kids to their class multiple times. The administration and school leadership only want to protect the reputation of the school, and do not care about the student’s well being. Bullying is allowed, racism, homophobia, and Islamophobia are considered day to day normalities. We did have a few truly remarkable teachers but the leadership is corrupt. Also, they nickel and dime you for everything despite paying a heavy tuition. We are at a public school and it is ten times better with more resources and kinder and more responsible teachers and school administrators.

I have a TKA grad and a current high school student, and every day I am thankful for The King's Academy. There will be good and bad teachers whererever you go, but I am happy to say that my kids' list of awesome teachers is far longer than the ones they didn't connect with or learn well from. Teachers and coaches truly care about the students and I have witnessed many teachers being very caring, full of grace, concerned for mental health, and passionate about their subject matters. Coaches are vetted Christians who will pray with their teams and promote a selfless, "Play for the Lord" team environment as opposed to the "it's all about me/my personal glory" approach that is so prevalent these days. This is a College Prep school, with lots of AP options, but we attend TKA for the loving environment, smaller school size, extra-curricular options, and sticter-than-public-school standards.TKA is unapologetically Christian, teaching with a biblical worldview. If you are looking to avoid that and instead just want the "college prep" angle, your student will probably not be happy here. This school is open to anyone, and they will expose your child to biblical principles through retreats, service trips, chapel, and bible class. We love all that, but it's not for everyone.There are a lot of "pretty to look at" private schools in the area, and TKA is not fancy. But what sets TKA apart is the warm Christ-honoring environment, the magic that happens in the classrooms, and the friendly community. We can't think of a better place for our kids!

Individual teachers are very dedicated, and most want what is best for the students. Unfortunately, the administration is very resistant to constructive criticism. They would rather protect the reputation of the school than do what is best for the mental health of the students.Another item of concern is that academic counselors discourage students from applying to "reach" schools when applying for colleges. I've heard several stories of students being told not to apply to excellent colleges because they will not get in but applying anyway and getting into those schools. How many students have not applied to schools they otherwise would have gotten into? The school appears to want to direct students to religious-based colleges instead of the colleges that will best prepare them for success in life.

My son is diagnosed autistic (ASD-high functioning), and he was bullied and isolated by the other students relentlessly. The middle school principal tried helping us, but the teachers did nothing. They made the bullying worse by showing blatant favoritism among students. The teachers treat quiet students very poorly. A middle school English teacher even accused my child of doing something in science camp, which was proven false. It was a serious allegation, but she never contacted us to inform us about the incident and never apologized for her actions. I would not have known about the incident until I asked my son how the science camp went. I brought it up to the school admin, but there was no action. In short, this school has too much hypocrisy in claiming Christian traditions when their actions and students are anything but Christian. Our family has suffered so much. My son has developed anxiety, and we are still struggling.Some kids still bully him when they see him outside of school, even if he has transferred to a different school. I informed the current high school principal, but she has not responded. DO NOT GO TO THIS SCHOOL IF YOU WANT YOUR CHILD TO BE SAFE. The emphasis is on succeeding academically no matter the cost, even at the expense of others. Many students, including academic achievers, are spoiled, judgmental, and egotistic, and the school culture tolerates bullying behavior. It is a very toxic, unkind, and unsafe environment, especially for those who are different.

The best thing about TKA are the teachers, they are genuinely caring and can provide good lessons in general. We also appreciate that the school is grounded on biblical principles rather than woke propaganda. The main complaint from my child is that some students are disruptive in class. There seems to be a lack of classroom management efforts. My child finds it difficult to concentrate on learning with disruptive students around. TKA requires an expensive standardized test and interview as part of the application, but the quality and caliber of some students do not reflect a selective process. It appears that all who apply are admitted in order to maintain high enrollment numbers. There is no perfect school, I'd say TKA is a good fit for students looking for a small, caring environment but may not be a good fit for all.

Outstanding! The Bay Area is filled with great schools and The King's Academy far exceeds all others. Sending our children (8th and 10th grade) is one of the best decisions we've ever made. The school's academic program is rigorous, but it is also challenging and engaging. The teachers are passionate about their subjects and they are always willing to go the extra mile to help their students succeed.In addition to academics, The King's Academy also places a strong emphasis on character development. The school's mission is to "prepare students to live for Christ and to impact the world for His glory." This mission is evident in everything that the school does, from the classroom to the extracurricular activities.It is a pleasure to continue to watch our children grow academically, athletically and spiritually. My older son attended TKA for high school and the younger one for both junior high and high school. They had wonderful experiences! Teachers were friendly, helpful, and available whenever students needed them, and even welcomed students to have lunch with them in their classrooms and come in for extra help if needed after school. When we toured the campus, I was surprised to see that most of the classrooms had what I would call a "comfy corner," an inviting area with a couch or two where kids could just hang out. Far from the generic classrooms that I grew up in, the rooms at TKA were very pleasant places to learn! Also, teachers' fun personalities showed through in the way they decorated their rooms. Many of the teachers volunteered to supervise student-organized clubs. The Origami Club, Board Game Club, ESL Club, Birthday Club (which makes little treats to give every student on his or her birthday), Journaling Club, Future Medical Professionals Club, Anime Club, and Ukulele Club were some that I heard about over the years. Kids could form clubs for pretty much whatever they were interested in. This school has a strong emphasis on community. Students get to bond with teachers and each other at off-campus retreats that happen at the beginning of the school year, and all high schoolers participate in week-long service trips each spring, traveling all over the country/world to volunteer their time making the world a better place. Parents are invited to attend these trips as well. My husband helped build houses in Mexico along with our sons. What a great experience! TKA is definitely a Christian school. There are retreats, chapel, and daily prayer. Bible is a required class. Most importantly, my sons' teachers set a great example of what it looks like to live the Christian life. During adolescence, students really need to have adults (in addition to their parents) who truly care about them and are willing to talk to them about what they're going through and what life is all about. TKA has teachers like that, who, without being dogmatic, are there to listen and offer their advice when kids seek it out. During his freshman year in college, my older son actually called me and thanked me for sending him to TKA. He was very well prepared for college academically, but more importantly, he was prepared spiritually. He said, "I know what really matters in life. You and King's gave me the chance to really think about the principles I've chosen to live by." Wow!

The King's Academy (TKA) is a highly respected, Christian, college--preparatory school. As a parent of a 6th-grade student who attends TKA, I really appreciate how the teachers and administrators have proper, biblical standards and boundaries, but they discipline in a confidential, loving and professional way. They also encourage all the students to have fun, but everyone knows where the boundaries are. The teaching is so incredibly sensitive to the learning needs of every student. All the teachers manage to gear their instruction to individual students so well that I sometimes think my son is getting a private tutor in terms of how well the teachers accommodate his learning style. The only difference is between TKA and home schooling is that my son is having a blast with all his friends and in all the sports, clubs and activities he's engaged in. The school says on its web sit that it takes having fun seriously. It's true. The administration, faculty, staff and parent volunteers spend a lot of time and effort on school-wide activities in home groups, chapels, theater and broadcast productions, student retreats, clubs, lunches with teachers, and sports and after-school events. It seems like every week there are three or four fun and interesting things going on at the school.Besides being a parent of a TKA student, I'm also a substitute teacher there. I know the school from an insider's perspective. I see firsthand how hard the faculty and staff cater to the academic, spiritual and extra-curricular needs of the student body. TKA treats every student like he or she is: a fearfully and wonderfully made individual created by God with incredible potential to bless themselves, their family, their church, their community and the world with their unique God-given talents and abilities.TKA's sole mission is to develop their students to their full potential in Christ. And they are very successful in doing that. The love and attention given to the student body is exhibited by the real feeling of warmth and fellowship everyone at the school has for each other.I pay full tuition for my son to go to TKA, and I feel that he and I are getting more than our money's worth. The academics are fantastic, and there's so much going on. The activities and events are endless. The community is one body in Christ that exhibits all the fruits of the Spirit: love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness and self-control!TKA. What a blessing!

The King’s Academy is a Christ-centered school that encourages students to try their best for the glory of God. The academic curriculum taught is engaging, and the teachers are always supportive and educationally open to answer any concerns or questions you have. Sending your child here will be a beneficial boost for their future, because the school provides a wide variety of classes that a student may be interested in. This is not just a school, this is a loving family of God that supports one another. The King’s Academy offers leadership positions to help fellow students excel and stay motivated in Christ throughout the school year. Overall, this school is definitely one that changes lives!

Our student was just a Number...administrators looked out for him. No teachers made any effort to look after our student. There are definitely teachers favorites at this school

do NOT send ur child here unless you WANT them to get PTSD. If that's what you're looking for, send them here!! Terrible school. Administrators do not care about students' problems from the school. Many non-black people have said the n-word and have not gotten punished. They. Don't. Care. I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS SCHOOL. literally, go to a public school. Save money, you're child's mental health, and get them some real education.

My children are enrolled at The King's Academy and I have been delighted and impressed with the caliber of their experience there. TKA provides academically rigorous content in a joyful community. I appreciate the school's commitment to developing character and faith, not just academics. The sense of community is strong, and the size of the school is just large enough for the kids to have a broad peer group and access to varied extracurriculars, but also small enough to still feel known and to feel part of the community. The teachers we have had have all had high expectations, but they are also engaging and provide ample support. There are lots of hands on activities in class, along with more traditional style instruction. The communication channels between the school and parents are clear, and I feel well informed about how my kids are doing. I am grateful to have found TKA, which I consider to be an oasis within the pressure cooker of the Bay Area for teens to grow and learn.

Please, for the love of God, do not send your child here. You can get a FREE education at public school, and one that is good. If you send your kid to King's, you will end up just paying thousands more after they graduate for the therapy they will need to undo the psychological damage.

Overall I had a terrible experience and could find no redeeming qualities in this school. I was academically very successful, gaining admission to multiple top 10 universities, but TKA truly held me back in every way and put so many obstacles in the way of my success. Their academics were so lackluster and I arrived to college completely unprepared. I was not allowed to register for dual credit. The college counselors told me to apply to Christian colleges instead of the Ivy League (thank g*d I did the latter). I was bullied extensively by staff and students for being gay and I still have nightmares about getting suspended just for being part of the LGBTQ community. I learned so many toxic things about how women were inferior, saw intensely racist jokes and statements made by staff and students, and overall did not enjoy even one day of my life at this school. I'm looking forwards to seeing all of the admin & staff in hell where I'm apparently going because I'm gay. My recommendation? Avoid sending your child here, at any cost.

When my child was in the junior high, we had a fantastic time. However, as the high school years went on, especially this one, the mission of the school doesn't seem to be the same as when we started. There have been vocal parents and students alike, but have they truly been heard. We have one more year, so we won't see the true change of TKA. However, if it stays on this course, TKA won't be around much longer.

This has been hands down the best school experience for my 3 children. It's been warm, supportive, encouraging, fair, friendly and fun. The teachers take interest in each student in being their best no matter what that means to the student. The focus as much on their "heart" as they do on their "mind" which is priceless and so desperately needed in this world. There are plenty of AP and Honor class offerings to satisfy those students who wish to challenge themselves. If your student is struggling there is Advisory every Wed morning where each teacher is in their classroom for 30 min prior to the start of the day. They are also open to scheduling during brunch, lunch and after school. When we were at public school, my child could only go to the tutoring center to get help which may or may not correspond to how the teacher is teaching in the classroom. Despite the grade range of 6th - 12th grades, the environment is extremely positive where respect and compassion for each other is a priority. The school also has a ton of fun events school-wide and grade level. Going to football games on Friday nights is a highlight for us where our children can sit with their friends and enjoy an activity that supports the school. I truly can't say enough about King's. Just wished we had transferred sooner!

My experience at this school is TOP RATED. Everyone here is so open and willing to let you join their group, the teachers are so supportive, and it really feels like God is in this place!
