I had two kids in this school, younger one going from preschool up to second grade, and older from 1st to 4th.This is an amazing school, with great teachers, high academic level, and relatively low tuition. It gives a full day care, year round, and is a great alternative to public schools crowded classes, lackluster academic support, and intermittent closures which has working parents constantly scrambling to find alternative care.I would recommend this school for anyone in the area.

My kid was in H4 for almost last 6 month.he had an awesome experience with his lovely teachers Ms Perla,Ms Pastoon and Ms Lin.they all are truely great.in his initial days when he was quite young and adjusting to the preschool atmosphere Ms Pastoon handled her so calmly and patiently. My son is a picky eater so feeding him was always a challenge for me but Ms Perla helped him and guided him to eat independently .Ms Lin was always there whenever he needed her.i am so thankful to you all from bottom of my heart for taking care of him like a mother at home and teaching him good habits and making him independent like a good teacher at school. Now he is going to G4 tomorrow. I really hope the same treatment from the teachers of G4

I went to this school 10 years ago and it was one of the worst experiences in my life. I was bullied by other students and staff. I developed a bad relationship with food at a young age as I was made fun of for eating alone and not being able to finish all my food, even at home. I didn't really know how to talk or interact with other kids and instead of being taught and getting helped, I got ridiculed and bullied by yet again students and staff. I remember my teacher's name and how she would single me out and target me. When were learning Spanish, I got yelled at for not knowing how to say my favorite color. When we would practice counting with this cubes, I liked to mixed them in the small, metal containers with my pencil and pretend it was soup. Going forward, it was a running joke to not "be like me" by my teacher and the rest of the class. I got put in the closet for asking this boy to marry me during nap time. It is funny to look back on, but when I went to this same guy's party, I practically got jumped by him, his little brother, and other little boys. They backed me into a corner of the bouncy house and starting punching my lips, face, and kicking me down. I had one friend but she was a lot older. We would play together on the playground many hours after school while our moms talked. I forgot her name, but I hope she's doing okay wherever she is now.

My kid went to this useless place for 10months to attend pre school. They said teacher and student ratio is 1:12, but they have 1:24.. This does not make any sense and spoke with management multiple times about this. But completely waste of time.. PLEASE DO NOT SPOIL YOUR KIDS INITIAL SCHOOL DAYS. Thank you..

I'm happy that my daughter is in G4 with Mrs. Balvinder, who really takes good care of kids and gives lot of importance for learning and overall development. Many times i get pleasant surprises when my daughter tells something new and says Mrs.Balvinder taught me :)My other daughter is in V16 with Mrs.Dory and Mrs.Swetha. They are very good teachers and i'm happy that they give lot of attention for discipline and good behavior. They give enough time for students and explains in details whenever required.

It's been almost 2.5 years since my daughter has been at Rainbow Montessori. She joined as a toddler in H2 class which was headed by Ms.Brenda and her team included Ms.Tram, Ms.Vasanthi and Ms.Norma. Those teachers were simply awesome. My daughter loves Ms.Tram and wanted to see her everyday. Then she moved to G4 Preschool class, headed by Ms.Balwinder and her team includes Ms.Rose and Ms.Pavithra. They are very kind and wonderful team who makes the kids learn many things while having fun.She loved her teachers there and enjoyed playing with friends. During the time she had attended, she learnt to read and write words and small sentences, do some basic math, learn basic science like the solar system, plants, etc and well prepared for Kindergarten, I would say she was even educationally advanced. The teachers worked together with each child towards development at their own pace, which was great so the students didn't feel like they were being lectured or pressured. My daughter has gotten very much interested in planting as they have studied in the class. Also she was super excited with the projects given to her in G4 and she did all by herself which helped her to gain confidence and waiting for next project every month. They also help kids to learn social skills and reinforce manners.Ms.Balwinder has a very structured classroom but it's also a colorful, fun and loving atmosphere. She is very active, energetic and uses different techniques to teach and engage kids without even they realize they are learning. Apart from that she also teaches Bollywood dance to the kids and its amazing to watch the kids performing during Diwali and Holiday programs. My daughter absolutely love the Bollywood dance which Ms.Balwinder teaches and that is a motivating factor for her to go to school everyday. We are so happy that we made the right choice for my daughter and I would highly recommend this school to other parents.

My son has been going to Rainbow Montessori Preschool for last 1 year in G4. Our Experience with the school especially this class has been great so far. Ms. Balwinder the head teacher of the class has made a lot of positive impact for my son. She is experienced in dealing with different types of kid and applies different approach. As parents it feels great to see a teacher who loves her work and makes a genuine effort to help your kid.

Rainbow Montessori school is a very good school. The owner of the school is a great person, and most of the staffs/teachers that I met in this school are very good. I especially want to thank Ms. Balwinder, the head teacher of the preschool classroom G4. She is the best teacher that I met so far. My son was with her for the last 1.5 years. My son is a very active boy. It is very difficult to make him follow instructions. Before attending Ms. Balwinder's class, no teacher could manage him and make him sit down to learn. Finally we moved him to Ms. Balwinder's class. Just within a couple of weeks in her class, my son showed tremendous changes. Ms. Balwinder showed great skills of being able to teach any kind of kids. She observes each kid carefully and applies different teaching method to different kids. She is very patient with kids meanwhile she is very strict with them. My son established good discipline under Ms. Balwinder's guidance. Now he is well prepared for the elementary school study. Thank you very much, Ms. Balwinder!

Our son is still young so we can only comment on the day care aspect of it. It has been excellent. They are very caring, clean, and loving. Big playgrounds for different age groups once they become good at walking. Low teacher turnover. Teachers are so loving I can't thank enough. They also teach babies sign languages which have been very helpful. Absolutely love!

My son started preschool in Rainbow Montessori mid of last year. He is currently enrolled in G4 class. This review is for G4 class and the head teacher for G4 class, Ms. Balwinder Kaur.We enrolled him in G4 after reading all the positive reviews about Ms. Balwinder and it turned out to be the best decision. I am very impressed with the progress my son has made in less than few months in G4. Ms. Balwinder and her staff focus on all round development of the child. Every month we receive a learning plan that has schedule of all the activities for that month. I see a good balance of learning and fun in the learning plan. My son's social skills and communication skills have improved greatly after he started in this class. He expresses himself very well now and not shy at all. Thanks to the group activities and circle time that happen every day. During the group activities, Kids are taught to stand up and speak to the rest of the crowd. Ms. Balwinder teaches Bollywood dance to the kids and it was great watching kids performing dance and various rhymes during the Christmas event at school. My son writes letters, numbers and small words and loves learning very much. After coming home, he tells us everything he learnt at school. He is very excited to go to school every day and absolutely loves the learning and activities in G4.Ms. Balwinder has always provided feedback about our son's development and encouraged us to share any concerns/feedback any time. I am very confident that my son will be well prepared for Kindergarten when he finishes preschool later this year.

Hi, This is not a suitable school for kids who need extra help. Too many kids and bad teacher to student ratio. The head teacher in my son's class had no knowledge about special kid who have special needs. Generally experienced teachers raise concerns if they see the kid lagging in speech or other developmental aspects. The head teacher who claimed to have several years of experience had zero knowledge about my kid's difficulties. I had a horrible experience with her as she did nothing other than complaining every single time. We being first time parents thought our son was misbehaving. Later we got to know he was a special kid after his diagnosis. If only she had directed us to get our kid evaluated it would have saved the kid and us a lot of stress . Lot of experienced teachers do inform parents about concerns and direct them to paediatric evaluations. She was always so angry .I now feel if she hated the job she should have resigned. She is not a positive influence on anybody let alone kids. There was this assistant teacher to the head teacher who was very affectionate to my son and would help him a lot. I am very grateful to her , if not for her my kid would have left the school long back.Fees is reasonable but public schools are any day better. They hardly have craft classes, no bikes, hardly any variety.Regret my decision of sending my kid there.

Rainbow Montessori is an excellent academic institution that is always improving. It adheres to Montessori standards as well as the state's educational requirements. The infant and preschool facilities are top notch. In daycare and in academics, the teacher-student ratio is very good. The school is in the old Sunnyvale high school, but the facilities are well maintained and upgrades appear almost every year (most recent improvements are new carpeting this year and new playground equipment and ground cushioning last year). Academics are geared toward high achievers -- my 3rd grader has some 4th grade level work -- but the teachers work with the child's developmental level, as that is the essence of the Montessori method. This individual attention is the value of a private school, or at least this private school. I feel that this distinguishes Rainbow from the more hypercompetitive private schools so prevalent in Silicon Valley, where students are basically on their own. The school's daycare is in the child's same classroom for all but the last 1/2 hour, and includes recess and study hall. I feel that my child is safe and accounted for during this time. Daycare time may also be used for optional classes like individual music instruction, gymnastics (taught by a former Olympics coach) or foreign language (other than Spanish, which is part of the school curriculum). The school caters to busy Silicon Valley parents. It's available for any 10-hour day within the 6am-6pm hours, the school is open year-round (July-August are daycare only), and late pickup fees are very low. The student body and teacher population are diverse. My daughter learns about many world cultures. For her last winter program, her class sang "Jingle Bells" in Greek! Diversity is celebrated at this school, which will help the students excel in any environment. I only wish that the school went through 8th grade.

Rainbow Montessori has been in the business for many years. I happen to have experienced from past and present situations from this school. This school has changed to worse with administrations and teacher quality. Some teachers have served this school for many years and remain to be in the same position. I question about teacher quality and improvement. I have also noticed that administration has no control, or maybe they do not know what they are doing with today's education. Infant Programs - Beautiful rooms and Ok teachers. Often, I hear kids crying for hours but yet not attended by any.Toddler Program- They have packed up their rooms to the maximum. I have not seen any progress with this program. Frozen meals and overworked teachers are placed in this program. Cleanliness and teacher quality are questionable. Pre- School Program- There are many classrooms. They have 36 students. Teacher quality is below educational level. Most teachers have a rough time with English language. Classrooms are dirty and not up to any good marking. This is a serious situation I see. Different classes teach in different ways. There are no unanimous work levels. The administration has no power over what they teach. No standards at all.Elementary Program- They use very old textbooks. The teachers do whatever they want. The elementary director has no knowledge of running this program. All that she does is to divide students according to status and favoritism of each teacher. This program is up to no good standing at all. The discipline and overall school environment is not suitable for any child to be. I am wondering why the department of education has no power to check this type of school.

My daughter has been attending Rainbow Montessori since she was 23 months old and my youngest daughter who is 8 months old is also attending this school for daycare. My eldest daughter is currently enrolled in Ms. Balwinder's class G4 and will soon transition to kindergarten. She's always happy to see her teachers especially Ms. Balwinder. My daughter has learned to write her name, addition, subtraction, sound out words and build up her self confidence. Ms. Balwinder also gave my daughter the right amount of attention when she was learning to adapt to her new baby sister. I highly recommend enrolling your preschooler in Balwinder's class.

School is full of favoritism. Only few teachers are good in the school. If someone wants to join their kid in a particular good teacher, then we have to "butter" the principal and teachers. Parents whoever always tries to be in good books of principal will "ONLY" get admission into good teachers class. For rest, Principal will tell all kinds of lies to make sure they don't go to "best" teachers classes, so they can fill "normal" or "average" or "bad" teachers classes too. Principal will go extent that she will blame your kid that he/she is not doing good in academics, inspite of having the progress report is "best" from the corresponding class teachers. "Good" teachers also can't override principal. Overall, parents whoever have "enough" time to always talk, act, spend time with principal/teachers will only get into good classes. If you are person who don't have time and who can't butter this is not the place.Only good part of the school is cheap when compared to other private schools like Challenger/Stratford etc, which is not the only criteria for many parents to choose the school. Principal/staff should realize that fact.

My son joined Rainbow Montessori since he was 3 years old. We really like both Ms. Tweet (pre-K) and Ms. Natalie (K). Although my son was behind in his language speaking skill (until few month ago), he is still happy every day. Both Ms. Tweet and Ms. Natalie have provided him a happy & healthy environment for him to grow at his own pace. Now, toward the end of the Kindergarten, he is able to speak and read well. I am amazed by him when he makes quite a lot remarks. When I asked him, "who taught you?" The responses are usually, Ms. Natalie. He seems to understand far more than he can express now. I give credit to Rainbow Montessori for providing high standard exposure for the kids.

My daughter joined the preschool in classroom G2 mid 2015. So far, I have seen great improvement in her penmanship, memory skills, and overall love for learning. Ms. Chelsea and Ms. Sadia are two of the most loving and kind women and have been a true blessing for my little girl who wants attention and love from her teachers. I love that G2 is full of animals - turtles, a bird, some reptile thing, and often fish as well. It teaches the young children responsibility and even about the circle of life. "Mommy - one of the fish died today." Although its only been six months, and I have seen some organized chaos upon pick up and drop off (but what else is expected with 25+ 3-5 year olds), I fully recommend Rainbow Montessori so far.
