As parents of two boys at Mt. Royal Academy—one who transitioned from public school and the other who is new to the United States—We couldn’t be happier with our decision to enroll them here. Our older son, who came from the public school system, has gained so much confidence. He’s now actively involved in basketball and already planning for college, which is a testament to the school's nurturing environment. Our younger son, having recently migrated to the U.S., has been warmly welcomed, with the school making remarkable accommodations to help him acclimate to both the community and the culture. The staff’s dedication to ensuring his smooth transition has been exceptional. We feel incredibly supported as a family, and we highly recommend Mt. Royal Academy to anyone looking for a school that truly cares about their students' growth and well-being.

I wouldn't trust another school to educate my children, but I do fully trust MRA. Their mission and approach to developing the whole student makes them grow in education, but also character and virtue.

Mount Royal Academy has had an incredibly positive impact on my family. With three children attending, I can confidently say it's exceptional. The dedicated teachers go above and beyond to nurture and inspire our children's growth and development. They bring care, expertise, and passion to their roles, fostering both knowledge and a love for learning. The headmaster deserves special recognition for his unwavering commitment to the school's mission. His leadership creates an environment where both students and parents feel valued and supported. This sense of community and camaraderie is a standout quality. In addition to the outstanding academic experience, Mount Royal Academy provides a holistic education that embraces faith, moral values, and character development. This approach has a profound impact, instilling a sense of purpose, integrity, and compassion in our children. We moved from out of state for this school, and it was the right decision. We couldn't be happier with our choice. Mount Royal Academy has not only provided an excellent education but has also become an extended family where our children excel academically, grow spiritually, and develop as responsible, caring individuals. I wholeheartedly recommend it to any family seeking an exceptional educational experience coupled with a warm, supportive community. Mount Royal Academy has exceeded our expectations, and our kids are thriving because of the incredible teachers and the caring headmaster who truly cares about our entire family.

My kids have gone to this school for many years. The teachers all demonstrate true compassion for each student while also calling them on to greatness within their own abilities. The school is very open to having parent involvement in all aspects of the community. From sports to drama to educational input, the school truly fosters parent engagement. It is a small school but that creates a familial and nurturing environment. The curriculum is demanding but accessible. I highly recommend this school

A great school for faithful Catholics or anyone who wants an alternative to the soul-crushing leftist secular dogmas being being preached and pushed in the public education system where your child’s “data” is being sold on the regular to the highest big tech bidder and the entire teaching profession looks down on you as a parent, your family, and your values. The school truly educates the whole child, encourages children to be children, and helps you as a parent protect your children from the darker forces in the world, which whether like it or not, do exist. Your children will be exposed to classic and traditional literature, music, and art and will be taught to appreciate truth and beauty, not mindless feel- good relativistic trash. I would urge you to take control of your child’s education and environs before it is too late.

As a teacher and administrator I must say I’m truly sorry for the experience expressed in the recent reviews. In my experience, the teachers and administration puts sincere and determined effort into carrying out the mission of the school on a daily basis. Educating the whole person, one student at a time is not just a motto. Pursuing academic excellence in all disciplines while fostering an environment that values the true, the good and the beautiful is a task that requires total commitment. It has not been abandoned at this school. Regarding sports, we field teams in soccer, basketball, baseball, track, fishing and swimming. Despite having a smaller pool of athletes, our teams compete with other private and public schools in NHIAA Division IV. Our Fine Arts program features sculpture, advanced drawing and photography in addition to the core courses. Our Music program includes sacred choir, violin orchestra and formal instruction in music. While our school may not have the full complement of accoutrements available to larger public institutions, this fact is considered, not a privation, but an asset in that it demands more of both the teacher and the student. Technology is not spurned but rather contained within and academic framework designed to minimize distraction. A mobile computer lab was recently acquired enabling students to conduct research and complete assignments. Digital projectors are available to students and faculty for multimedia presentations and supplemental instruction. Finally, bullying is taken seriously and addressed immediately if discovered. We have an internal virtue formation program designed to affirm positive character development. Various virtues are highlighted throughout the year and students are encouraged to model the virtue.

Mount Royal Academy has been a very warm and caring environment for my children. My children are getting a great education while being held to a high standard of personal accountability. It is refreshing for me to see my son offering his chair to an elder without being prompted or holding the door open to let someone pass through. I feel like this aspect of "education" is lost in school these days and I'm glad it's " offered " at Mount Royal. The faculty is comprised of a group of knowledgeable adults who are invested in each of their students as well as the school itself. It takes a lot to run a school and I feel that the families, staff and students at MRA are very dedicated and I'm pleased to be a part of the MRA family!!!!

The new administration has strayed from the original vision of the school. Not very Christian. The academics are advertised as being above public school but at a closer look they are far behind the area public schools. After my children left Mount Royal and went to public school they needed to catch up quite significantly. There is nothing to offer in art music sports or other electives that are numerous in area public schools. Very Big bullying problem at this school also. The headmaster is only 28 years old and extremely judgmental and inexperienced. Not the school it used to be such a shame.

My kids attended MRA last school year. We decided to leave because the school is very unorganized, and the highschool classes seemed very dry and boring. The kids were not aloud to use technology. Which is absolutely ridiculous because it's 2014. Most school allow kids to use their phones, laptops and tablets, actually some schools even give students those items. I was just very annoyed by how the school is stuck in the 1800's. Not to mention that the highschool students are very rude and judgemental.

Prior to MRA, we attended a top NH public school and weren't looking for a change (2 kids - elementary/high school; no special needs). Why change and how did we decide? Many factor's surprised us: MRA SAT scores rank above most top public schools, strong diverse curriculum, 1st choice college and overall enrollment rates(see website). Add in education about our Country, personal virtues, and respect . In our eyes, public schools have moved far away from this. Not Catholic? (we're not) 50% non-Catholic enrolled. Yet we 100% agree with God in every part of our day. About the uniforms? Talk about a great neutralizer in the world of assessing by your dressing. Athletics? MRA has grown to the point of a strong feeder to Varsity team status, tho still building the program. The athletic teams are gaining reputation and standing taking many schools by surprise. Parents are involved. Staff is strong. Mount Royal Academy is in steady growth, educating to a high standard, well rounded with the arts and athletics, and works to bring each student their potential more than I've seen before. With careful consideration, you'll see why this is a great choice. Take note of this school!

In response to the review posted on July 28th, I do apologize again for the apparent disorganization of the school. I am also very sorry that you feel as if the school is full of 'hypocritical' people. I do invite you to call the school. Please ask for Derek Tremblay, Headmaster Elect. As a classical school, we believe that instruction and content must be delivered in an age-appropriate manner. Students in grades 1-6 do not use technology therefore in the classroom. Teachers use technology to supplement lessons, but we think students need a solid academic foundations first. However, students in grades 7-12 do use technology in the classroom. Our staff is equipped to help students use various tools in order to both learn and illustrate their own knowledge (Google drive, Quizlet, EdPuzzle to name a few). We do have a technology policy that is based on appropriate use, and high school aged students are invited to use their own devices in school, so long as a faculty member grants them permission for academic use. And lastly, I myself have written at least 1 other review, and the previous Headmaster did write review. I can tell you that teachers were never told to write reviews

Very disorganized school full of very judgemental and hypocritical people. There are some very questionable moral standards. If you are in the "in" group, your children will be okay. Otherwise, expect very little. Technology is absent in this school. I love teaching values and morals to my children, but releasing students into a world unprepared technologically is ridiculous. I've read most the reviews on this site and it is evident that most are written by staff members.

This is a simply outstanding school community with a strong emphasis on authentic Catholic teaching and on supporting parents as primary educators. They allow children to work to their ability instead of requiring them to work at the same pace as their peers...for example, students in Kindergarten can work at a 1st grade reading / math level if they have advanced beyond the others...but kids who are struggling in any given area can get individual attention given small class sizes. They also open their doors to homeschooling parents to allow their kids to take any class they need - music, science, art (where labs / supplies can get expensive and cooperation is key). Truly a hidden gem!

Greatest school ever! My daughter loves it and so don't I. The teacher's genuinely care about their students and take the time to make sure each one succeeds. The staff is amazing and the Headmaster is the nicest person ever!

Disorganized, constantly changing dates at the last minute. Populated by the multitude of teachers' children. Quality of work brought home by my children as well as items sent home written by teachers full of spelling and grammatical errors has made me cringe the last couple of years. Time to move on.

Love it! Great academics in a great environment! My husband and I could not be happier with the quality of the education at Mount Royal. It is worth every penny.

I have been working as the Headmaster at Mount Royal for the past three years. It truly is a beautiful school. Our enrollment has grown by 126% and we have just completed construction on the St. Joseph's Center which includes a new gym, science and computer labs, and a lunchroom. Also, construction on another brand new classroom building will begin in April. The curriculum is rigorous but students get the attention they need in a loving environment. IT is the only school I've worked at where the students don't want to go home at the end of the day! God Bless. David Thibault Headmaster
